Free to use! I hope it will help lots of people :)

    • I don't think so, but it's kind of a relative term isn't it. If you like the woolies catalogue it's not junk mail :p

Not to dampen your effort (congrats on launching the site), but between Facebook and Gumtree, I imagine wanted to buy classifieds are pretty much covered.

Gumtree's wanted section is a mess of for sale ads. It's not clear what people are doing there.

Facebook also lacks a consolidated wanted section.

Is it a real gap in the market? I don't know , but I'm having a shot :)

  • I had the same idea for a site and was going to call it www.junkiesshoppinglist.com

It was using the Steal To Order concept. Pickup available at any local pub car park after ☀️ down.

    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=ebay+wantitnow&ie=utf-8&o…

    eBay ended it. :+(

        • +1

Hey you totally joined up! Thanks!! Make a listing and I'll help you look for what you want to buy.

Good on you for giving it a go, and good luck with it.

One suggestion I can make is a better, more solid logo. Even if it was just Arial Black.

      Thanks!

At least you've figured out that marketing is a key to your success. Unless you have $200k+ to sink into that, I'd suggest some crazy viral marketing - what's the most obscure thing someone could possibly want? Then the media will lap it up like the brainless lazy journalists a lot of them are.
The other option is paying $100 to the first 1000 people who successfully complete a bonafide transaction. It will cost you big $, however a site with 10 listings is not going to take off, you need to throw $ to get to a critical mass.
    Also check your spelling.
I've got plenty of more ideas, and feel free to thank me when you're riding high on success!

Yeah man, racking my brain to figure out how to get users. They'll flee if i charge them.

I can't pay $100000 for my first thousand users, but i appreciate your suggestions.

Then your best option is spinning the lottery wheel and hopefully going viral.
Also, how many press releases have you submitted? Simple free advertising if you spoon feed the journo's. You need expert advice on the timing of everything as the sequence is critical.

        • +1

Press releases are something that had never even crossed my mind. Thanks a lot, my fairy godmarketer.

        • +1

@freakatronic: Well you need customers before press releases. Anyway, enough free advice.

        • +1

@affable: Let me assure you that i don't mind free advice.
