Printer Ink Refill Kits

I'm looking at getting a refill kit for my home printer (Canon MP240, which uses cartridges PG-510 and CL-511).

Since I have never refilled an ink cartridge before, I was hoping I could get some pointers. Does anyone have advice on which refill kits are good, or which ones should be avoided for that matter? Same goes for online shops/ebay stores to purchase from. Any to recommend or to avoid?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Have a look at "http://www.rihac.com.au/canon-series-c-26_28_45.html?page=1&sort=2a"

  • That looks interesting, but its way more ink than I need. I don't print that much at all.
So, far the best I have found is:

    Calidad 921-BK

    Calidad 921-TRIO
    http://www.calidad.com.au/ProdSearchResult.asp?cID=921-TRIO

They are allegedly stocked at coles and dick smith for around $10, but I have yet to find one in stock at a store near me. My plan at the moment is to just get a black one and see how it goes.

    Anyone used Calidad products before?

    • yeah all the time for the past 2-3 years, works fine in my mp170 uses the (pg40 and cl 41 cartridges)

    • I found them in Kmart

  • Yep no worries at all with those Calidad ones (for me)
Easy to use - just make certain you do it outside and wear disposable gloves.
Ink drips on the carpet = mega pissed-off wife.

Take the age old tradie advice:
    Happy wife, happy life ;)

  • Thanks guys, I'll make sure to do it outside, and wear some old clothes.
