    But why…?

  • You bought a vehicle starting with "REP" didn't you?

It reads from left to right :)

  • with your eyes, unless you are blind and can feel the numbers

  • Thanks for helpful(some sarcastic) comments here. VIN number can tel you the make of the car. As per google its 10th number "from left to right". However I noticed few VIN which has 0 at 10th and it doesnt correlate to valid make year.

    Anyways found what was wrong.

    Thanks heaps

Occasionally you'll see a commodore going through an identity crisis.

Lol yep American badge with an "Aussie and proud" sticker ;)

    • As per google its 10th number "from left to right"

No, the vehicle make is generally in the first 6 characters of the VIN, 10th character is more likely to be Model Year or something like that but it differs by manufacturer.

    • And what was wrong?

  • In Australia we read from left to right

  • It's the second numeral, commodore = 6G1… General Motors, Falcons 6FP… Ford, Camry = 6T…. Toyota
European cars are a bit different, sometimes they show the country, sometimes it's where the head office is located. Volkswagen is usually always WWZ… but they make cars in South Africa, Poland, USA
And vin starting with M could be Thailand or India.
