I've assembled a cabinet which I've purchased from ALDI yesterday. The quality was a lot flimsier than I thought. The doors fall open very easily…quite dangerous for kids.
I read through ALDI special buys return policy and it's not very detailed. I still have the packaging and receipt. If i disassemble it (remove the nails, screws etc) and put it back to the box, do you think I'll still be able to get a refund?

Because if I disassemble it, it will have holes on the board. I'm just worried they won't allow refund coz they can't resell it
I'm pretty sure they don't have time to check out every board when u return it, they usually have line lines waiting with people with groceries and if they started opening ur box to see if its in original condition I'd drop my milk and walk to woolies.
U will have no problem, go when it's busy if ur worried so they have less time to be nacrky.
Just do your best in packing it back up the way it was and put it back into the box.
Very simple Go into the store and ask. That way you find out what you need to do. Eg diassemble or leave as is.
Given you consider it a safety risk, they may just scrap it or return it to head office, as it could be an issue for others.
Also has a third party that will resell their reutns item. And sometimes they put clearance price as well.
They have an As-is section where a lot of their returned stock gets sold.
Cant speak for Aldi but I have returned an assembled then disassembled wardrobe to bunnings due to it not being fit for purpose

Of course you can return it, how else are you supposed to gauge the quality if you don't assemble it?
You're worrying too much, they won't give a crap.
You can return it. Don't listen to store managers as they give advice different to that of Aldi's call centre. If you had issues. Call 132534 although you might be directed to call the after sales support number which in this case the manufacturer.
I was once told by a confused Rose hill store manager that I can only return stuff to the store I bought it from (cause it was on special). Called number above was told no such thing.
