    • velocity sell for 1 cent per point in the classifieds
based on this you get the same dollar value whether you transfer flybuys to coles vouchers or flybuys to velocity

only difference, one is cash and the other can only be used at coles etc

      • I compared the cost of a target voucher via velocity or via flybuys, after the transfer it worked out cheaper to stick with the flybuys. Will vary item to item and I've got 200k or so velocity points so after
An extra nudge of points for anything other than when I hire out Necker island one day with them,

Anyone want to team up and pool some points? https://shop.velocityfrequentflyer.com/award/detail/necker-iā€¦

        • But if you transfer the Flybuys to velocity then sell the velocity points you would be better off than buying a gc with the velocity points

        • Last day to change my Flybuys points here, is it actually worth it? 1 velocity point is about 2 Flybuys points…

I transfered my ANZ rewards points yesterday 1 MAY and just now 2 MAY the Rewards points including the 50% bonus has just hit my Velocity account.

If I buy fully refundable business flex fare ticket to max out my card, transfer the points to velicity and then cancel the tickets will the point transfreered also be reversed?

  • I've currently got 150k Amex points. Planning a 3 week trip to Asia next year, do you think it is worth me transferring what I have now in anticipation of using them for flights/hotels ?

    • That's entirely up to you. Are you making plans now? I used Qantas points to book some reward flights on alaska airlines recently. If it's useful to you then 15% bonus is good.

I've also heard that they do the 15% bonus twice a year… May and November. But if they decide to not continue with it, then you miss out.

I've never heard of extra except the ANZ one mentioned at the start of this deal.

    • Are you looking to fly business class?

  • Sooooooo fuuunnnn

  • I have a NAB Rewards of 80,000. Do you think it is worthwhile moving these points to Velocity?

    • Imo i think you get the best value out of anz rewards when transfering to velocity with these bonuses

    Looks like a marketing gimmick
They're claiming it to be a maximum of million points mistreat of a Billion

  • I had points auto transferred over in the first week of May from my ANZ card and it says on my velocity account no bonus points just the usual 1500 from my 3000 ANZ. Does anyone know if there is a delay before bonus points are credited?

    • For the May promotion there has been little to no delay for bonus points. This is from flybuys and CBA. The March promotion for flybuys took roughly 5 weeks to get the bonus points.

  • If I'm transferring from ANZ Rewards, does that mean that instead of 2 Rewards points -> 1 Velocity point, I get 1.5 Velocity points instead?

    • Yup, 10k points / 2 = 5k velocity then 50% bonus = 7500 velocity

I have 70K ANZ Rewards points. Currently AR offers 50%(15+35%) more than usual.
    The default ratio for the transfer from AR to Velocity is 2:1, so my 70K ANZ rewards becomes 52.5K Velocity points.(70K / 2 + (35K X 0.5) = 52.5k.
If I want to redeem a Woolworth voucher using 70K AR from ANZ directly, I can get $314 worth of WW voucher but I can get only $291 Coles voucher(Velocity does't offer WW voucher) when I redeem 52.5K VR points from Velocity. I think the transfer is not worth at all if we intend to redeem a voucher from VR. Not sure if we redeem a VA free flight ticket or upgrade etc. Is my calculation wrong?? Thanks.

Yeah that's what I realised too. I was going to redeem woolies vouchers and it still made more sense to use AR, so I didn't convert to VR. I think you get most value out of VR when using for flights.

  • Seems to have been extended to 18 June (see link)
