Men's Manicure/Pedicure

Not sure if this is the right place to ask

I want to get a mani/pedi. I've never had one (except in Vietnam). Good fun, and just an all-round feel good activity.

Where can I get one in Sydney, preferably Parramatta, for males. Also how much should I expect to pay?

Also how much should I expect to pay?

It's actually free. You pay with your man card. Just hand it over to Petal on the way in and she debits your soul instead.

    • That is a superb bargain. Link please?

You will be able to go to any nail salon. I'm not from the area so can't recommend a specific place but where I am I just go to whichever one has the shortest queue when I want to go haha. (There's like 5 in the shops near me). They all do a great job.

    • and hopw much do they cost? I've never been!

      • They vary massively! My local shops charge from 35-80 for mani/pedi depending on where you go.

  • Can I ask why you can't do it yourself?

Not having a go at you or anything, but it looks pretty easy.

My girlfriend does mine for me, as she hates my disgusting hands. And something about cuticle trimming?

I'm on the tools everyday, and my hands and nails aren't in great shape. But watching her do it, it doesn't look too difficult.

    • I wish I had a SO that would do it for me.

I jsut don't know how to do it well… I Don't know how to shape/file them the way that the vietnamese lady did.

  • As a fellow man I just use nail clippers, cut them, done.

Nail clippers? Pah, you should be using your bowie knife - or for extra credit an angle grinder.

I don't know if male rates are cheaper, but if done together, Mani and Pedicures are between $40-$50. I do mine at Hurstville Westfields, and don't see the Parramatta Westfields being any different.

Usually, I don't do pedicures in winter, as I don't wear open shoes, but if its purely for your own enjoyment, then go ahead.

One thing to note is that cuticle trimming increases chance of infection, and so you could ask the manicurist to only push back your cuticles without cutting it. But if you like the look of trimmed cuticles, just make sure the cutting instruments look clean and disinfected.

Why do it half-assed, might as well go the full Caitlin Jenner and cut off more than the nails..

    • because sometimes less is more.

  • I don't know if this is helpful or not, but sometimes I'll just use my dremel and the grinding blade and that grinds my toe nails down fairly quick (careful the blade snapping towards your eye). I assume its similar to a pedicure?
