  • Hi, just wanted to know what the original price of the vacuum was?

    • +1

      Between $450-600AUD shipped aka http://www.gearbest.com/robot-vacuum/pp_440546.html

So OP, is that $399AUD shipped?

      • +1

Based on the post, yes $399 with free shipping included.

        • +1

          Never assume anything!

At $399AUD shipped, its a good deal @ $399USD shipped, its a not.

        • +2

Yes free shipping will be included Australia Wide and also a 1 Year Australian Warranty will come with the device.
As we are based in Australia the pricing is all in AUD, also please let us know if you can find any better deal than this one for this robot vacuum cleaner.

        • @RoboGuy:

I think we wanted to know if the $399 was in AUD or USD

        • @obiwanmy: The pricing is in AUD

  • +2

This is actually a good deal!
I'd be all over it if i hadn't purchased one already.

  • Will you have local parts availability?
Is there any progress on a translated Mi Home App?

    • +1

Local parts will be available, The Mi Home App is in English, however, when monitoring the robot vacuum cleaner that side of the app is in Chinese. In saying this you can quite easily work out what is being displayed through the icons.

    • +4

Sorry I am wrong according to http://www.androidcentral.com/xiaomi-mi-robot-vacuum-has-eng… the Mi Home App and the Voice for the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Cleaner can now be in English. GREAT NEWS!!!

  • +3

For anyone wondering how this device compares to Big Brand Names. It actually has more suction power than Neto, LG, Roomba and most other robot vacuum cleaners. Also It has better navigation than the Roomba 980. And like many new robot vacuum cleaners, you can monitor it from your smartphone. The great news is, is that it is about 2 to 3 times cheaper than Big Brand versions.

  • Please Share the deal with your friends and family as we need to know how many people are interested so that we can actually get the deal started.

  • -1

Am I missing something price wise from elsewhere?

    Cashreawrds have 3.2% aswell.

    http://geekbuying.com/item/Xiaomi-Mi-Robot-Vacuum-Cleaner-Ro…

    • This would be a cheaper deal except for shipping costs $96.96 to Australia

      • +1

good one. shipping fee will be shown after entering address.

  • +1

Yes, has been waiting for this for a long time. Simply THE BEST Vacuum Robot on the market, regardless of price.
This model sells for RMB 1699 in China, which is about $320 AUD, but it's heavy and shipping can be costly.
On the market (Aliexpress, etc), it goes anywhere between $500 - $600 shipped, so I'd say $400 is a very fair price.

    • +1

I very much agree that this is one of the best robot vacuum cleaners, especially when looking at cleaning performance and navigation. Also as mentioned earlier it will now be able to have an English voice pack installed and an English app to control it via, so no more Chinese language limitations. It looks like we can just about be certain that the pricing will be $399 (obviously AUD) including Free Shipping, however we will need 100 orders to be able to bring you this price so please tell anyone you know who is interested in one about the deal and get them to head over to https://www.roboguy.com.au/pages/poll and register their interest.

    • Is it better than its premium competition even roomba? Wow if so I might sign up for this. Been looking for a good robot vacuum one for carpet and one for mopping vinyl.

      • On par at least, remember it got a LIDAR on board.

      • The Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner has more suction power than the Roomba 980, LG Homebot Square and the Neato Botvac Connect. The navigation system of the Xiaomi Robot is similar to that found on Neato robots but I believe it may be even slightly better, but definitely better than the Roomba 980. The Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner also gives you voice prompts like the LG Homebot Square to let you know what it is doing and you can also connect your smartphone to the robot via the MI Home App and from here you can actually monitor a floor map of your house that your robot has created and control its schedule and other such things. The Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner really takes the best parts of LG, Roomba, and Neato robots and puts it in one device and mixes it with Xiaomi's own style and features. Obviously, it is not perfect but definitely, gives you same if not better performance than Big Brand versions which cost around $1000 or more.

        • -5

You have sold me now make the price $200 or nearer and we have got a deal.

        • The voice prompts are in Mandarin

        • +1

@dasher86: Yes, but Xiaomi as released the ability to change the voice prompts to English through the Mi Home App

        • +3

@dasher86: Not anymore, there are many voice packs available now and one of them is English.

  • is there anyway we can leave our email address so you can notify us if this deal goes live?

    • +1

Sure either send an email to [email protected] with your contact details or return to our website and fill out the contact us form.

  • also interested in parts and disposables please.

    • We will stock all parts and filters for the robot, so if you ever require replacements then you can just contact us or the parts will be avaliable for purchase from our website soon.

      • Will the price of parts be so high that it becomes uneconomical to fix the machine when needs to? Just concern that there is a price hike

        • Parts can be cheaply sourced from aliexpress in that case.

        • Parts avaliable for the product are filters, main brush bar, side brushes. So more of the maintenance parts. Xiaomi at this current point do not offer any other parts.

  • My roomba 780 is on his last legs and I was just about to pull the trigger on a Neato Connect… any idea how long until you will get these things shipping?

    • We are currently working with our suppliers to lock in the cheapest prices so that we can guarantee this offer. However, we will need a minimum of 50 orders to make this deal come to life so please register your interest at https://www.roboguy.com.au/pages/poll and we will provide everyone with an update soon.

  • are you going to be offering this soon?

i am about to purchase one from gearbest in the next week or 2.

i don't think i will wait any longer than 2 weeks for this deal so please let me know if you are going to be offering this in the next 2 weeks and i will buy from you.

if you can't offer this in the next 2 weeks then i will just go buy from gearbest. thank you

    • +2

We hope to have the deal live within a week. We are working as fast as we can with our suppliers to make sure this happens.

      • damn! i thought it'd be at least a month so I bought one this morning :-0

(i paid $488 w/ express post from an oz ebayer)

      • +2

        thanks. will wait for you.

  • +1

    Looks good!

  • Will you be shipping with an Australian figure 8 cable / providing?

    • +2

The Robot Vacuum Cleaner will ship with an AU Plug.

      • +1

Thanks rep I'll be telling my friends.

  • My roomba 595 just died. perfect timing. any further discount if i buy 2 or more?

    • I am really sorry but this is the best price we can offer.

  • +1

Would definitely snap one up at that price.

  • +1

We have now got some more information up on our website about the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner including a view video reviews and the product video. You can view this here: https://www.roboguy.com.au/pages/xiaomi-mi-robot-vacuum-clea… It will hopefully not be to much longer before the deal goes live.

    • +1

      Will be buying one.

  • Hi Everyone,
We have great news, the deal is live!
Check it out on our website: www.roboguy.com.au

    • Any way of finding out how many units have already been purchased?

    • +1

Hey OP maybe you should post this on the deals page as well? You should get well over the 50 units required then! I will definitely be buying one. Any word on how much stock you guys have or will purchase?

    • Put in my order, but yeah you should definitely post a deal for this.

      • We are posting a deal now.

        • Looks like it's been removed.

        • @chl15: The deal is still on but OZbargain site moderators have removed the deal listing as we still have not received 50 orders. Once the 50 orders has been reached we should be able to get the deal listing back up.
You can go to the deal here: https://www.roboguy.com.au/products/xiaomi-mi-robot-vacuum-c…

        • @RoboGuy: Great.. I put an order in. Hoping this goes live!

edit: there's a thread on whirlpool where you have been mentioned. People are questioning the credibilityof your business because it was so recently registered.. you might want to jump on and chat to them to give people some reassurance: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2567641&…

        • +1

@simulacrum: Thank you very much for letting us know. We have been stopped from commenting on Whirlpool as a business, so we will endeavour to satisfy all of their questions through our Website and through this thread. 21 now sold! We appreciate your support!

        • +1

          @RoboGuy:

No probs. I posted on the WP thread linking to this thread.

        • @RoboGuy:

Is this because you got done for spamming and can't post (still in the penalty box lol)?

  • +4

I've had one for 9 months now, having paid about $550 from China. Really impressed with it. I've done over 100 cleanups, covering over 4000 sqm in as many minutes and it's just as new without any degradation. Since the English Language pack came out, it's made me only more proud of my purchase. I can't sing my praises any louder for this robot vac.

    • +2

      Username checks out haha.
But I have to agree, absolutely love mine and it works better than I expected.
The recent update to English voices and English on the app was the icing on the cake.

      • I've seen people post screenshots of the vacuum's routing which are displayed on the app, and have to say the mapping is pretty impressive.. a lot better than some of the random bump-and-turn navigation that other robot vacuum cleaners seem to use.

Fingers crossed that this deal will go live!

  • +1

@OP: What's the warranty claim process for the device should it break down? Will we have to send it off for repairs, in which case how long would repairs take? or will it be a replacement basis?

I'm guessing if we use certain Credit Card shopper's protection when purchasing or something similar then we should get an additional warranty through the Credit Card provider?

    • The Warranty is on a case by case basis, we would need to troubleshoot any problems that you experience before making the decision on whether the device would be repaired or replaced.

  • I'm a little sceptical about this website. There isn't much details with regards to the business and there isn't phone number to contact them.

    • +3

A couple of searches reveal a few details. It's a kid from Albury who dabbles in freelance web design under his mum's abn, who has obviously realized there's a demand for xiaomi goods here and some deals to be made aggregating that demand locally. I'm not too concerned because he uses PayPal.

      • Please may you provide the links that have led you to such a conclusion/explanation? It's a genuine request and I'm not trying to be facetious.

I am skeptical too as the website is quite simple and there is no history… (I originally assumed Roboguy sold robot vacuums via a group-buy method, so I wanted to check out previous group-buys.)

        • +2

If you do a business name lookup there is 2 registrations under Roboguy. Under the ABN listed on the website it shows the owner being:

Holder Name: IZAAK JACOB MARK LORENZ
          Holder Type: Person
          ABN: 32 811 985 284
Address for service of documents: Washpool 8018 Mahonga Rd Rand NSW 2642
          Registration date: 4/05/2017

There is another ABN linked to the same business name though with the same address but only recently registered.

          Holder Name: KARLEISHA MAREE LORENZ
          Holder Type: Person
          ABN: 95 163 035 151
Address for service of documents: Washpool 8018 Mahonga Rd Rand NSW 2642
          Registration date: 24/01/2017

Google the names and you will come across websites such as:
          https://www.freelancer.com.au/u/greatwebdesigns.html
          https://www.upwork.com/o/profiles/users/_~01a56be71abb4a0c7e…

      • Still…. There isn't much info on the website. Like who would we claim warranty.. Where are the units shipped from and whats the turnaround time for delivers. I can only assume that he can only order the units from the supplier after he reaches his 50 unit target. Then how long will it take to get to us or are then units being delivered to him, then he delivers to us?

If you look at this page https://www.roboguy.com.au/pages/why-shop-with-us-1 he has icons like "Excellent customer service", "1 year warranty". Where is the proof that there is excellent customer service after a purchase is made? What is the process for warranty claims and the turnaround time for repairs etc?

As Ayanami stated, he has placed an order, yet the purchase count is still at 23. The seller/webpage just doesn't seem legit.

        • +1

Give him a go, pay by Paypal, what have you got to lose compared to buying from other sites?

I bought back 2 of these units from Shanghai and both units have been working fine so far.

Hmmm maybe i should bring in 100 of these in my containers and sell them here LOL :P

  • Ordered, though the total Orders count didn't go up, so I suspect there may be more than the stated 23.

    • I think there may be some delay as it now says 29?

      • Probably has to be manually updated.

  • Took the plunge. Hopefully not a dud.

    • +1

Thank you for your order. We are very pleased to announce that we only need 16 more orders to reach our target.

  • @RoboGuy, Once you reach 50, what is the turnaround time for ppl who have ordered, to receive their orders?
Is it getting shipped direct from the supplier or is the supplier shipping it to you, then you ship it to the buyers?

  • +1

As we are the importers, yes, we will need to receive the shipment and then post to our customers. It is expected that delivery to our customers should be completed within 30 business days from when we place the order with our supplier, we do hope to be able to have them delivered earlier but we need to allow the time for the delivery process.

We thank everyone who has had the confidence in us to place their order early, we suggest that anyone still interested in placing an order and would like to be on the first possible delivery list, please make your order before it is too late.

Great News, we now only need 13 more orders!

    • Is there a cut off date for the group buy? I'd like to get one of these regardless so if its not going to happen it would be good to know as soon as possible.

  • +2

Yes, the cut off date will be 11.59pm 14th May 2017. We are confident that the deal will go ahead!

  • is everyone buying with the Virtual Wall & Maint Kit ?

    • We are now selling the accessories for the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner. You can add them to your order or if you have already purchased the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner from us you can purchase the accessories here: https://www.roboguy.com.au/products/xiaomi-mi-robot-vacuum-c…

      • You should fix up the navigation row links on your page, the vacuum cleaner link goes to the info page rather than the product page.

  • Ok - I'm in…

  • Also in. Surely it's over 50 orders now?

    • +2

We currently have had 42 orders, only 8 to go.

      • Great! Can't wait to sit around and watch my non human slave clean.

  • Hey Roboguy, does the maintenance kit come with 2x filter, 2x side brush and 1 main brush? THanks

    • +1

The kit contents are as listed bellow:
Maintenance Kit = 1 Filter, 1 Side Brush, and 1 Main Brush
Maintenance Pro = 2 Filters, 2 Side Brushes, and 2 Main Brushes
Ultimate Kit = 2 Filters, 2 Side Brushes, 2 Main Brushes, and 1 Virtual Wall

  • +1

    Hi Everyone,
We now have a few more great deals available for purchase, check them out here: https://www.roboguy.com.au/collections/active-deals

  • About to get one, does the $5 priority shipping give us anything different to normal shipping? Wouldn't you just be shipping the 50(+) vacuums when they arrive from the supplier roughly the same time?

    • The priority shipping just means that your order will be posted first in Australia.

  • +2

So… if we get the 50 orders and you're then able to post this as an actual deal, I'm sure you'll get quite a few more people interested. Any special 'thank you' gift for those who took the plunge early and kickstarted your business? ;)

    • like the $5 fast processing shipping fee

  • Can anyone that's experienced with robot vacuums attest to their performance on carpet? I've put an order in with roboguy as I'm moving into a new (very small) apartment. But I'm now concerned whether the robot vacuum will do a good enough job on the carpet. I don't wear shoes inside and the place is small enough that the thing could probably do the entire place twice a day, but still not sure whether it has enough suction to clean the carpet deeply enough.

    • +1

I have one of these and use it on carpet upstairs, it does a great job.

I only run the Dyson handstick and barrel once every few weeks now.
I figure running the robot vacuum every day keeps it quite clean every day, versus running the manual vacuum only on weekends which makes it very clean for one day only.

My Xiaomi vacuum even got underneath the bed which was hard to reach with the regular vacuum. It finished with quite a full dust bin after that haha.

      • haha cheers for the reassurance.. maybe I'll get a v6 slim just to run a deep clean every couple of weeks

        • +1

Yeah, with robot vacuums, the main issue is vacuuming up pet hair and long hair.

I have a cheap 1yo Samsung robot vacuum that I am happy with, but I'm considering replacing with this Xiaomi one that has a lot more features (mainly the more logical routing, longer battery life and the ability to recharge for a second round).

    • +1

Without sounding biased in regard to the fact that you have purchased with RoboGuy:
We have compared a Roomba 780 to a Dyson Barrell DC08 Vacuum Cleaner and the Roomba 780 collected more unseen dirt from the carpet than the Dyson on every occasion in our testing. As the specs show, and independent reviews prove the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner has more suction power than the Roomba 980 (which is the latest Roomba model and outperforms the 780). A robot vacuum cleaner's strength is cleaning the carpet. So to answer your question, I believe that you will be very satisfied with your purchase.
Check out the videos below for more detailed comparisons between the Roomba 980 and the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner, if you missed them on the RoboGuy Website.

      https://youtu.be/m91rEfzp3DA

    • +1

it does a better job at picking up hair in carpet than my regular vacuum!
you will still have to go over the carpet with a normal vacuum ever so often.
