Short Haul $33, Medium Haul $66, Long Haul $99

'Haul' is a very good choice of word here…

verb 1. (of a person) pull or drag with effort

Probably not as good as the long hauls at United Airlines.

Ive been checking ozbargain everyday for flight deals in july from sydney to brisbane for the horn/pacquiao fight. Got my hopes up again :( but still great deals for those traveling within may and june.

    • -3

      for the horn/pacquiao fight

      Are you serious?

You're going to fly all that way to watch a fight that most likely won't even go 2 rounds ???

      • +9

Yes. An opportunity to see arguably one of the best pound for pound boxers in potentially his last fight.

Brisbane is the closest he will ever fight so compared to flying to the US where his other fights were held, Brisbane isn't that far.

Just like paying for flights and accommodation to see a band that aren't touring through your city.

        • fights often only last a few minutes though…

        • @jv: Some people really like boxing. Not me, but each to their own.

        • @Murdrum:

          Some people really like boxing.

I like it to, but flying to watch a fight that likely will be over in a few minutes is not good value.

        • @jv: Hey if I liked boxing so much that seeing some superhero fan favourite KO some other guy within 30 seconds made me jizz my pants in public, I'd probably pay hundreds of dollars to see that shit.

        • @Murdrum:

          I wouldn't…

I'll watch the 30 second replay on youtube…

          We're not all jv?

          @Murdrum:

Yes, unfortunately that how genes work… Some of us are just lucky.

          @jv:

Thats like telling someone who wants to go to Waikiki beach to go watch it on youtube instead. Im going cause its the atmosphere and excitement of seeing your "superhero fan favourite KO some other guy within 30 seconds" ;)

But as Murdrum said "each to their own". You dont see me attacking you for your need to buy cheap chicken nappies now am i.

your need to buy cheap chicken nappies

          did you find some?

    • I abhor all violence, unless of course i'm the one perpetrating it.

If she retires before then, can you get a refund ?

  • So great! Thanks TA.

  • I almost died.. Just spent $200 for return flights to sydney coming back on the 27th of May, the sale tickets start on the $30th..

    • If you have credit card with price protection then maybe try to claim. Make sure its same date and same condition.

      • +1

No I mean the tickets I bought were for dates not included in this sale, I ALMOST died lol. Thanks though.

Everything is long haul from WA

I don't care how cheap Tiger is, it is NOT worth it! I booked twice with them in the last year, and both times flights were cancelled and I had to scramble to book with another airline at the last minute, costing me more than if I had booked with another airline originally!

    • +3

The reason why I only use tiger to pricematch

    • +11

That is just bad luck. Tiger is by far not the worst at cancelling flights. For March 2017:

QantasLink recorded the highest percentage of cancellations (4.2 per cent) during the month, followed by Virgin Australia (4.1 per cent), Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (3.6 per cent), Jetstar (2.7 per cent), Tigerair Australia (2.4 per cent), Regional Express (2.0 per cent) and Qantas (1.8 per cent).

    • I had a really ridiculous conversation with their call center the other day.

I hadn't received a flight itinerary for a flight in late june that I booked back in February, so I called them (had payment receipts etc) and asked them to check if it had been sent to the right email.

Had to scrape through a dozen emails to find the flight details (which I didn't have because they didn't send the itinerary) to piece together answers to get them to check if it had been sent.

They refused to tell me the email address it was sent to, only to resend it, and LO AND BEHOLD they hadn't ever sent it because 15s later it pings up on my phone…

And same as last time I refused to fly tiger again, they changed the flight times again!!

      ARGH!?

  • +2

Not really an issue with these flight times, but be warned JetStar Price Beat now requires flights to be at least 7 days away (used to be 72 hours).

Yes, of course you wanted to know.

    • Ysosrs

      • Because the Jetstar price beat is a serious matter.

        • Lolfrngh

        • @Gimli:

OK, Mr Google helped me out with the earlier one, but not this one.
          WTF are you on about?

        • @AngryChicken:
          Fair enough

  • I have flown wit them many times with minimal delays but Im booked to go to Canberra next weekend and they have changed the flight times three times already.

    • Yep 2 flights changed already…..becoming a joke airline

    • I have flown wit them…

Yeah well they don't like terrorist jokes while airborne.
      Lock it in.
