Torch from China Can't Find Right Battery Size

Hi there
I bought a torch which I think was from China.
It has the zoom lens on it. When I received it, it came with no batteries and AA batteries don't fit into it. C size is too big. I don't know of any other size batteries in Australia so I can get this to work.
Has anyone got any suggestions? Does Australia sell a particular size that would fit this torch.
Thanks for your time

    Perhaps this link might help

  • Thanks Slippery Fish. Could you recommend a place? I live in Victoria in the western suburbs and don't know names of battery shops. Thanks

    18650?

  • Go to Bunnings and ask a staff member there?

  • Thanks trex for link. I saw the 18650 thanks Brodenlt on the link that trex put there.
Pantsparty I have been told by a friend just now that bunnings only sell regular size batteries. I'm really looking for somewhere to go and just buy what I need. Would Jaycar have them?

Maybe post a link to the item you bought? Or a pic at least?

It's really difficult to offer any help with the information that's been provided so far.

      • textbook "how to not make a thread"

dont give us a picture link model name number or anything to go on…

    • https://www.batteryworld.com.au/ might help

it sounds like one of the 18650

    • Take it into your nearest Jaycar. You can try the batteries for size etc.

  • I don't know how to do that Gronk, but "trex" response link looks like the torch I bought. I don't know how to find a history of what I have bought on here to be sure it is the exact one but I think any of the parts in the link would work on the battery.
I am a newb,so sorry if I'm repeating myself. I just want the name of a store that sells the type of pieces that are in trex link. Ta

In the long run, using AAA with a 18650 adapter like this would be more economical.

I wouldn't be buying anything else off ebay until you know for sure what type of battery it requires - one of the guys at your local Jaycar should be able to identify the type of battery for you, they also stock 18650's so if that's what you need then you might just be in luck.

You don't have an email receipt for the purchase…?

Take the torch to Jaycar or BatteryWorld, they will know the correct battery.

  • Thank you all. I will try out your link to the ebay 18650 adapter. One more thing I forgot to mention was that the torch fit 3 x AA batteries with the third battery sticking out. Aren't AAA batteries smaller? I hope I haven't given you a bum steer on the size of the torch. Sorry

  • 18650 is 18mm in dia and 650mm in length

    • Er, no they're not. 650mm is more than half a metre!!

  • They are generally button batteries stacked one on top of each other.

The pencil that comes with the surface pro uses 4 of the buttons or a single AAAA battery which was a new one for me.

I would look for your local battery world as suggested above

  • Hey mate where do you live i have some spare adapters and 18650s if needed? Or if you do buy 18650s ask one of us that knows about batteries they can be dangerous.
