Went to the Optus store at Cockburn Gateway (WA) yesterday to buy and activate a $2 sim card and was informed that it is free when activated in store. There was at least 20 sim cards still available.
Note: I made it in and out of Cockburn without getting burnt.

Is there any other way to activate SIMs now that we live in a police state? I cannot activate any SIM card online anymore.

I activated an Aldi sim online last weekend
And if you don't like it here feel free to leave anytime, and be thankful you have the freedom to do so, there are plenty of people in desperate need queuing up to come here…
