    would be nice if this had some other form of network capability .. here you only have wifi listed .. which means that it would only work at home or in a hotspot ..

    not bad compared to restricted iPad jailbroken or not. But I doubt whether you'll actually ever get access to Android Market though heaps of apps abound here and there but how functional on 2.2 am unsure. I would consider the Apad G90 7" 800mhz Android 2.1 US$199 inc shipping.
    (made by Orphan so like the earlier model m70003 will probly take a 3G modem like the e220 in the usb)

      There's alternatives to access to the market. Such as; getjar, Appoke, slideme.. And lots of more out there!

      Half these 'ipad killers' are MORE expensive which I find ridiculous. The physical device isn't worth jack, it's what you can actually use it for. Rubbish battery life, screen resolutions from 1983 and often lack of 3g are big problems. No use having a portable device if you're tied to the wall charger and your wifi network.

    It looks like a great device, and android 2.2 is very nice.

    Be aware that the CPU is reasonable, but won't be very smooth on android 2.2.

    Swiper, I think you can connect a 3G modem to the Windows CE side (when it comes). But I don't think its possible for android. You would have to get a wifi 3G modem or tether your phone wirelessly.

      I think you will find it difficult PainToad to find one with these specs including the 2 operating systems and android 2.2. If that is the case, please offer some suggestions as I think they would be appreciated by the readers (myself included). Cheers

        In all honesty, 600mhz is slightly a step above the first android device (G1 Dream) and is still not sufficient to power most android 2.2 games (gameloft titles).

          9.7 in screen on ipad vs 7 in here - a mini ipad or maxi phone. Funny how little details are ignored when comparisons are made. Its not an ipad. Its a tablet

          Like dos users of years ago kept saying its Mac like…..

          Or Honda owners saying its the Rolls Royce of small cars …

          So call it like it is ITS an Android device. If it has to be a pretend Ipad its no good. If it's a Android device, then compare it to Android devices so we can really tell if its a good Android device. and then if its a BARGAIN Android.

        You might also wanna consider the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab which runs Froyo.
        Though it might be some time before it lands in Australia.

    NB, this is a great size unit for a Car PC or head unit replacement, as its almost the same size as Double DIN.

    Rockplayer should play fine on an 600-800MHz Cortex A8 too.
