  • Was this at a clearance table, or is it on the website? Specific to your Kmart (which one?)?

Yeah, sweet deal! I stocked up on Breadmakers as Xmas gifts! I'm happy I'm nearly set for gifts now, coz I hate Xmas shopping! ;)

Actually, the Kmart store I went to (Glendale, NSW) also had some really cool cheapo digital camera + keychain LCD photo frame + 2gb SD card sets for $15, more great gifts to save me some Xmas hassle! Don't go to Glenny for those without calling 1st though, I bought the last half-dozen on display, sorry! ;)

    • greedy !

      • I'm trying to think of a counter-argument, but I'm drawing a blank here! ;)

  • Be careful with the "Russell Hobbs" brand. I once bought a Russell Hobbs sandwich press, came home, and noticed it had "Homemaker" branding on it. However, the device was in a Russell Hobbs box, and matched the picture on the box. Some internet searches later I found out that this "Russell Hobbs" device was manufactered by Homemaker. So apparently some Russell Hobbs products are simply re-badged Homemaker, marked up.

    • You sure? Maybe some1 swapped the box…
I thought Russell Hobbs was a good brand. Harri scarff sell it as well.

I somehow think you got done there mate. Russell Hobbs is pretty upmarket compared to Homemaker, I highly doubt they would mix the products between the 2 brands.

      • Yeah, I agree…sounds like some other party got themselves a RH press at "Homemaker" price! IME the "Russell Hobbs" stuff might not be the best quality, but the finish is markedly different to "Homemaker" stuff!

      • Actually, it wasn't rebadged as "homemaker", it was "modernliving" (sorry). I got it at Target. But the box clearly had all the Russell Hobbs branding, it was advertised in the shop as "Russell Hobbs" and the device on the picture is the same. It was the "LW-010B" sandwich press (or one looking just like it). But some internet searches later, I noticed it wasn't on the Russell Hobbs website. Yes, I know they are normally upmarket (hence my willingness to pay $40 for a small sandwich press). Imagine my surprise when I pulled it out of the box, and it's exactly the same as the illustration except the brand. I contemplated writing a letter, but figured it had to be legal since it was Target….

Or you can return it, get a cheaper one and save a few bucks. Why pay $40 essentially for a brand name when you get a generic product instead?

          • @His_Holiness: I'm with HH, take it back for a refund, get your ass down to Aldi & grab their adjustable heat press with both swappable grill & sandwich plates!

These weren't popular at the original price (~$69 IIRC), but the last one I saw reduced was down to $29 at a couple of stores! Great buying at that! ;)

          • @His_Holiness: Yeah, I did. This was about two years ago. Went back to the store, and asked for my money back on the basis that I'm paying a good-brand price for a cheap product. Got my money back but the person behind the counter couldn't care less.
