Lenovo Shipping Date Moved Back by Almost Two Weeks, Now Shipping 19 Days after Order Was Placed. WTF?!

Has anyone else had experience with shipping issues with Lenovo?

I purchased an e570p last Sunday, and was initially given a shipping date of May 13 (which is in line with the estimated shipping of 6-9 days listed for the item). I went to check on the status online today, and it's suddenly changed to May 25! There's been no email advice from Lenovo, and when I called them they tried to make it sound like this was still within normal shipping times, which it's clearly not. The ETA to have it delivered to me has gone from the 22nd of May, to the 2nd of June!

The best the person on the phone could do was offer to chase it up and call me back on Monday, but I'm not holding my breath. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Were you able to get anything done to speed things up?

In my mind, a false representation is being made if they're quoting 'Shipping in 6-9 days' and in reality it's 19 days!

      • Was simply trying to find out the timeframe, but thanks for the immaturity

Original post is also the best place to ask the question, as others would've ordered the same thing and you can discuss it together.

        • @Gerbil:

1 person saying it takes a while isn't exactly an answer op couldn't have gotten elsewhere.

Do you want some internet points for basically saying 'Lenovo are slow, wait time is normal?'

Quite sure the same answer would've been obtained in the main deal post, and most likely from Scotty, who also uses Lenovo.

        • I didn't ask in the original post, because I assumed no one would be checking on the deal after it had expired, and there'd only be one post made in the last 6 days.

To find people with past experiences buying from Lenovo, I thought the forum was a better place to ask, rather than the deal, where even if other people's orders weren't delayed, they'd still be waiting to receive their laptop, so couldn't share there experiences about how long it took to get delivered.

    • To be honest, when I first saw the deal I didn't vote because I wanted to do further research. When I came back to it later I'd completely forgotten to vote. Note sure what that's really got to do with anything though.

      • +3

As you would be aware, voting in Australia is compulsory. Simply forgetting to vote is not really an acceptable excuse.

Your only recourse now is to have the case heard in the OzBargain Food Court.

        • Punishment, you must purchase a bulk pack of Eneloops at FULL cost :P

    • I sure as hell hope it won't take that long. Was wanting to claim the purchase on my tax for this financial year, and they don't process payment until it ships, so if it slips to June I'm in trouble.

        • I'll see how I go, but thanks for the suggestion.

        • @Gerbil: True, any of those Latitudes kill those E series from Lenovo.

        • @Gerbil: Dell outlet is my usual go to, but the specs on the e570p were too good to pass up at that price. I wouldn't even be able to get a comparable refurb from Dell for the same money.

  • Tell me about it… Ordered mine in March and still haven't got my Yoga X1!

I feel kind of stupid too, they called up a few days ago and offered me the WQHD version instead, but I passed on it because of the scaling issues (especially with remote support).
Now I'm feel crap for passing on a freebie, especially after putting my specs through on the ones on the website at the moment.

I mean, the scaling can't be that bad can it? (say yes! Trying to convince myself I made the right choice!)

    • (profanity), that's terrible. I feel much better now.

      • They must be reading this, I got an email at midnight last night saying it has now been shipped. Finally!

        • My shipping date was updated a couple of days ago, to the 15th. Then today it's changed to the 16th. Have a feeling that despite their claims, nothing has actually been expedited, they're just playing around with the dates to keep me quiet.

  • I also ordered e570p but from the original e570p deal
    27/04 Ordered from Lenovo website
    08/05 Received shipping confirmation
09/05 Received tax invoice inc GST amount
11/05 Tracking indicates the package has arrived in Sydney, NSW
    15/05 Delivered

6-9 business day to ship out a custom built laptop is acceptable imo

    • So what's your thoughts on the e570p ..
