so's Nanna, but she don't rate no mention on OzBargain!

      • +3

Submit her as a bargain and see.

She wasn't a bargain back in the day. Charged the highest rates in St Kilda!

  • My mom gave me one of this on my 12th birthday. It was the world to me.

Makes you wonder why adults would buy them though. Don't they have any shame? Wouldn't you feel embarrassed wearing a cheap and tacky timepiece on your wrist.

      • I have the solar-powered G-5600E-1 and it's regularly rotated in my EDC, more than most of my mechanicals. It's light, reliable, practically invincible, and the line oozes horological pedigree. Not every adult watch has to be a showy statement piece.

  • Where is it made in?

    • China most likely..

      • They have a factory in Thailand too

    • Mine was made in China. Cannot recommend it enough though.

Good find, pity Amazon have stopped shipping quiet a few Casio models to Australia now.

Watchuseek Review on this model Check out this guys collection on page 7

Yup. Pretty frustrated with the listing filters as well. Most of the models that do show up eligible for shipping to Aus end up showing as not being eligible.

I was stoked to buy the W800h recently only to discover it doesn't ship to AU any more :(

    • Image the whole battery change and waterproof pressure testing saga each month.

      • Huh, why each month?

        • +1

There's so damn many (21) that I'm sure it would be a pretty regular occurrence to do a battery change. Each month is an exaggeration…

I bought one of these in 2009. Sea, sand, mud, chlorinated pools, few falls from mountain bike - still alive and they still run from the same battery as 8 years ago.

    Amazing device.

    Made in China, yes.

Ditto my Casio F91W at 1/4 the cost of this, they are bomb proof!

Far too much watch for so little coin….

    • Bought same model about 10 years ago, still running on original battery. Strap still intact. Great Hassle-free watch. Although starting to wonder if I am just wearing it out of habit now as I EDC a phone now.

As usual don't forget the alternatives from SKMEI: Large & Small

  • I'm not keen on the shape of the DW series.

The GWX and GWM are much nicer 5600 series watches.

Thanks for letting us know, I was only just wondering which model you liked.

I was only just wondering how you missed posting this ozbargain.

  • Here's the Casio G-shock DW-5600BB-1JF for a ~AU$149 delivered. Watchuseek review

    • Big highlight is the negative display, but perhaps the negatives include it being a quartz and the resin display at that price. Still pretty popular..

This has a mineral crystal, as do all G-Shocks. See Casio Website

          Thanks for that WN.

@jungleboy: No probs, that's a bit pricey when you can get a GA-100 for approx AU$100.00 shipped.

          Casio G-Shock GA100-1A1 US$66.67 + $6.71 Shipping = $73.38

        • +1

@WatchNerd: good price for that one but I'll pass. Already got a very similar G100-1BV :)

I did notice browsing through some old classic Casio models <US$20 on Amazon, that they're available for Aus but not at Ozbargain prices..

  • Great watch. The band withstands sweat, mud, dirt and it consistently comes out good as new after each shower.

My only dislike is the short time the light stays on. Just a couple more seconds would be perfect. The plus is it's so bright I use it to find my way around in the dark.

  • Love this watch and the design is timeless.
I don't know if its a fluke industrial design but damn they are robust, especially the band.
I find that while the F91W or F105W are also classics, the bands don't last at all.

  • Seems like a lot of money for a basic watch. Are you guys all divers or something?

    • Just sick of watches with problems.

    • Have a look around in the shops here and see what they charge for this model.
