5kw Solar System $3333 @ iGreenEnergy (SA)

121

so I was looking to get a solar system for my property and figured getting it in winter would work out cheaper as it's off season for the solar companies. After doing my bits of research about system and pricing. I bumped onto this company (IGreenEnergy) which my friend had got it installed from. They had it on special where by they offered Jinko which are one of the better panels. And sungrow (although Chinese) but 10 years warranty. They had other options Fronius(European) and SMA (German) among others as well and cheaper than any other solar company that I got price from. But it wasn't in my budget. Sales guy was very precise and honest. Installer has done a very good job. Overall I believe money well spent. Would surely recommend others to them. Oh btw they had some price beat guarantee as well mentioned on their website. Worth calling them for sure.
I have added their contact details for anyone interested. Hope this can help few am bargain hunting brothers. Ph number: 13 00 04 47 33

$3333 is way cheap but I'd still consider paying the extra for a German SMA (smart) inverter, perhaps a more critical component than the panels. I've had a 5Kw SMA/Seraphim setup four years now and the installers (SAE on the Tweed) have never been back, zero issues, runs like a Swiss watch. And of course as it's a smart inverter I can run a full performance review (every which way) on the Oxley Solar app from the study.

Are they standing on their own two feet and ringing on their own bells ?

As a sales rep for a solar company, that's a very low price. There are a few variables and it's hard to compare systems without knowing all the details, but still, this is a very good deal.

The link doesn't appear to show this price ?

    • Correct! $4199 on the website. How is this a deal?

Sales guy was very precise and honest

    • He won't last long. Being precise and honest in sales gets you fired.

  • Even with the added cost of an SMA inverter that seems like great value. I think anything less than $4000 for a 5kW system is excellent.

  • Yeah that's a great price, the company that I work for offers some of the best pricing in Melbourne, but we couldn't compete with that.

Details on what you could a 5kW for?

For anyone not so sure about what's what, I found Solar Quotes resources on their webpage very helpful for cutting through the BS. Link below.

    • Handy site thanks.

I am an electrician but still interesting info on panel construction and direction of panels etc.

      • No worries at all. Very interesting indeed, especially how the various "Tier 1" panels all compare.

  • Great Price OP thanks. Does any one know if any good price like this for Melbourne. I would like a 5KW with quality products installed very soon.

  • Call me old fashioned, but a company website that has spelling mistakes on will not get a cent of mine.

Well I am an excellent speller. Glad to have your business!
(I don't know how to install solar panels though).

  • Thanks OP will try to ring them this weekend to see what they offer.

    Any recommendation for Victoria?

    • Love to hear what is good in vic as well.

  • Most people only look at the equipment quality and don't realise how a system is put together is just as if not more important. You can install to cut costs which never ends well or you can install to do the job properly.

Installing properly takes expertise which costs. You pay peanuts you get monkeys installing.

I've also found you pay top dollar and still get monkeys.

  • Good price for a company registered 17 months ago

  • Any LG Panels or Batteries?

  • Nothing special, so why are you posting this?? Are you affiliated??

Solar (and the associated payback) is something most people don't understand, and I have yet to find a company that is honest….

  • Reincarnation of Great Solar?

They had some incredible pricing but went broke. Luckily mine was installed a few months earlier.

I called and spoke to Jay who seemed 'honest' as OP said. He had answers, knew what he was talking about and gave the following quote:
Jinko 270W panels (JKM270PP-60-A) and Fronius single phase inverter (Primo 5.0-1, 6.0-1, or 8.2-1).
    5.40kW (20 panels) - $4,200
    6.48kW (24 panels) - $4,890
    8.64kW (32 panels) - $5,990
Cost excludes SA Power charges and new import/export meter.
I'm impressed with their service and keen to go with them.
