    Kugz,
Does the map come preloaded or on a SD card? I have the 64st with the lite toppo maps, can you explain the difference?
    Thanks

    • Hiya Mens442!

The TOPO maps are preloaded on the device (with the SD card slot remaining free to load other mapping products). TOPO Lite has 40m contours and non-routable streets, where as the full TOPO is fully routable and has 20m contours on this version.

      Thanks,
      Kugz

Hi I think I bought my last dedicated handheld GPS from you about 8 years ago. It is an Etrex Legend Hcx and it's still going strong. How does this unit compare? It looks like specs are fairly similar but screen looks bigger/better.

    • Hi syousef,

Thanks for shopping with us :D

The 600t has a much larger and higher resolution screen (a lot crisper and sunlight readable). A much improved touch interface (easier to name waypoints, navigate etc). Superior GPS chipset (better under tree cover) and BAC (Barometric Altimeter and Compass).

This device also has TOPO maps preloaded on the device, compared to just the basemap on the eTrex.

If you've got any more questions, please don't hesitate to send me a PM or give us a call :)

      Thanks,
      Kugz

        Thanks for the quick response.

  • Hi, what's the advantage of one of this, compare to a mobile app?

    • Ruggedness of the device. With the right app, an android device is more versatile in nearly every other regard.

    • *Better gps reception in some remote places and terrain.
*Can keep phone battery for calling for help if required instead of chewing through battery by using the app and location services.
*Generally lasts longer than phone for GPS.
*Good TOPO maps for iPhone/iPad cost ~$100 anyway.
