If you want value for money get 'Planet Earth 1' which has 5 discs and 'Life' which has 4 discs. Both are BBC and David Attenborough narrated.

Planet Earth 2 is a tad bit short to recommend for now.

Like women, it's not always how long they go for.
      This comment in inappropriate.

Filming tech has kicked up a little since 'Life'…

      • Personally I enjoyed all 3 but Life is my favourite of the 3.

        Can't go wrong with either.

        • Ooh, hang on, i take all that back.
Initially thought you were talking about Life on Earth from 1979, rather than Life from 2010. My apologies.

I've bought a shed-load of BBC blu-rays, yet i still have no blu-ray player. I fear that by the time i get around to watching them the 4K Ultra HD will be standard…

        • @AngryChicken:
"yet i still have no blu-ray player."…….I only hopped on the blu ray train less than 1 yr ago when I bought a PS3 for $100. (Target clearance sale)

          What your missing out:
          - Newer content looks a lot better than DVD
          - You can see a lot more film noise in older content (not a bonus)
          - Animation/CGI scenes can look almost flawless unless viewed real close.
          - Wrinkles and freckles are very noticeable (those lovely actresses aren't that attractive at all!)

          If I was you I'd buy a PS4 or Xbox One S.

    • shows up as $53.34 for me?

      http://d.pr/i/rpIVP

      • +1

The more expensive title shows up after selecting 2 titles and also includes delivery fees for both titles. I select pickup for both titles and it should be only $29.98 unless you've selected a title that costs $53.34.

Clear browser cache and start again and buy in store if problems persist.

Wanting both series and no special magnets.. I found it better to get the complete series for $59.98 which allowed me to get the complete series of Deadwood for free .. much better deal overall.

    • +1

Your link is wrong. It's just for planet Earth 1.

    • +4

Good - more animal magnets for me.

    • +2

as mentioned above.. the correct link for the complete series - thanks for that theguyrules

    • Did you also get $20 credit for spending $50+ on BBC, ABC, HBO?

      • am waiting for my purkle voucher , but did not know they did this… very nice!

        • is this $20 credit still going on or expired?

      • Yes. Purchased and confirmed. Paid with gift card from Coke Rewards so practically free for me.

Remember in-store purchases only to get the $20 voucher. Pick up doesn't count.

Special Magnets have special poor quality, no need to go for them, just normal version is fine.

  • I got the PE2 4k and PE1 BD today, as I think these are the best quality that I can get ATM.

    • +1

Yeh I was going to say that 4K PE2 is included in the sale and definitely worth the extra money if you have the player or even just for future proofing

      • +6

Because I got the xbox one s and the hisense 7 series (all ozbargain lol), also got the JB in store $20 DVD&BD coupon, so end up only paid $20 for both.

        • True ozbargainer here!

  • +2

Got more blurays today. Wife is not going to be happy :(

    • Me too, mine neither :/

      • +1

I need more shelf space for all of these blurays and games :(

  • +2

The title made me think that the double pack they have was $29.98

Back when Planet Earth 1 came out, I had scored it for under $20.
It mistakingly scanned as some cheap perfume. :D
Retail for it back then was $80+

  • +3

They also have $20 credit (DVD/Blu Ray) for $50 spend on ABC, BBC or HBO. So I'm thinking I'll grab the planet Earth collection for $60, grab $60 bogof on something else and get another $20 credit

    • Great idea mate!

  • +3

How on earth did they manage to film some of the scenes in PEII I'll never know. Incredible

  • Will the 4k version works on standard blu-ray player and 1080p TV?

    • +1

Nope, 4k bluray only works on 4k bluray player or XBOX ONE S.

You should buy bluray only if you want to play on bluray player.

You can get 4k bluray + bluray from UK Source like Amazon or Zavvi for ~$54AUD

  • Is there any mention of them making a planet earth 1 in 4k grabbed part 2 last time it was on sale
Looks pretty good on my Panasonic 4k tv playing thru the xone s

    • but I think because PE2 is filmed in 4k so we can have a 4k version.

  • I wanted planet earth 1 bluray special ed but seems only amazon uk have it, also after planet earth 2 on bluray/4k. this jb deal's looking good though at $30 for both :/

  • I don't get this post…. there's literally thousands of combinations that would warrant a post, what makes this so special?

Bought almost every single 4K bluray I wanted… so happy!

  • +1

Great prices for a great series.

  • +1

I am pretty sure that Planet Earth 1 is available on Netflix… Will probably grab Plannet Earth 2 in 4k with something else though…

  • +1

I am going to JB Hi-Fi Nunawading today at 8:00pm to get two copies of Planet Earth 2 4K for $40 so if anybody wants a copy for $20 meet me there and bring a $20 note. PM me your mobile. Saves me having to list on ebay, etc..

  • Just be careful that you're actually getting the discount.

I had to put in multiple orders to ensure i got the cancellation operating properly, otherwise i'd have a $15 order offsetting a $10 order, instead of offsetting a $15 order. You no wod i mean?

  • The JB Exclusive with Animal Magnets has been removed from their website. That's what I get for going to buy a gift card before placing an order. Still will call local store in morning to see if they still have stock.

    • I wouldn't lose too much sleep - they're only powerful enough to hold themselves up.

While everyone else has gone home, i will say that i'm impressed with JB HiFi - fast to delivery, fast to respond to email, etc. They could well meet the Amazon challenge. Not sure about everyone else…
