  • Just what I need, thanks!

  • Better use the deal or NSW greyhound owners will put them down or illegally ship them to HK.

    Unless you are scared of flying ( a greater chance of dying on the Hume) why wouldn't you get a $60 shitestar flight?

      By the time you drive to the airport, wait for your plane, board your plane, plane sits on the runway, flies to Melb, delayed landing, exit plane, exit airport, the day's lost anyway.

        Hardly, many people commute daily between BNE/SYD/MEL. The boarding gate closes 15min prior to departure, simply check in online in the preceding 24hrs, and show up 30 minutes before departure (assuming you don't have luggage) to ensure you make it through security in a timely fashion. Who shows up 2hrs early to "wait for your plane", unless going to the lounge - which ain't happening on JQ or TT.

          Yeah, even with those timings it really isn't that good, and then you've got the SYD commute to deal with…

          @xdirex:

          You still have to deal with the commute on the bus getting into & out of the respective cities. Buses are great for passengers going to smaller regional communities - in fact they are a lifeline for many - but intercity travel by air will be much quicker and better value.

    • Luggage, at least on vline. Brought 2x 25kg bags and they didn't bat an eye.

    • None of the discount airlines fly out of Canberra, which means we pay the usual premium. Buses are not without compromise but significantly cheaper.

    • Jetstar doesn't service Canberra and there's only one service each way between Melbourne and Canberra per day on Tiger.

  • Vline's standard price is 62.80 for Jolimont to Southern Cross, and it includes zone 1-2 public transport (4.10) to get you to/from Southern Cross.

    As to Jolimont to Sydney. Look at Murrays. Greyhound has never been competitive.

        Thanks for this reply! I wasn't sure if people actually cared but as long as I can help at least ONE person out there, I know it was worth it! :)
