  • Very counter-intuitive to get a machine + grinder and proceed to use month(s) old coffee beans.

    • If they are shipped out immediately as most roaster do, we will use up the "months" worth each month in about 5 days :)

Hi, I just bought this combo, so just wanted to share my thoughts, you can get them both cheaper individually, there are plenty of deals out there that can enable u to get this combo for under 1k minus the larger box :P

    • Agreed. Both espresso machine and grinder have been on "clearance" sale repeatedly over the last couple of months and can be had for much cheaper when purchased independently.

With Breville looking like they're gearing up to announce new models to supersede both of these machines, I'd expect remaining stock of the Dynamic Duo to begin reaching "runout" pricing in the not too distant future.

TL:DR -: Either purchase these machines separately for less when they're (inevitably) back on sale, or hold off purchasing the Duo until retailers begin trying to clear out their superseded stock.

  • Got the same set in 2013 for $950 from David Jones with Visa rebate deal… Not great value at this price in 2017.

Tassie has limited retailers and some of the mainland ones charge massive amounts to ship to Tas, so for those that have a local HN it maybe a better / easier choice.

  • got mine a few months back for $798 😁

    • But that didn't include the grinder… so $1027 is the comparison price based on that previous deal.

      • mine included the grinder

        • No it didn't

        • @Myright:

yes it did. ha ha 😛

Yes there have been a good lot of deals about and HotPie, that deal beats mine. Both units are a good combination, nothing super special but very good. So whats that, 250 grams per week, that is easily done with just one person. Going to need more beans that that.
Monday to Friday, just two coffees and double that over the weekend is about half a kilo.

I'm still going through my free bags and have at least 2 double shots everyday.
      nice coffee too

I go for the double shot ristretto straight without sugar. The single basket is only brought out during the cleaning process. Have to say, changing over from the old Breville 480 to this smart grinder does save coffee.
