So it's my fault or is it the fault of Big W/Canon? I'd be happy to take the old one in for refurbishment. If ink didn't cost more than gold you might be right.
Costs more than gold???? That is clearly untrue. Non branded versions are even cheaper.
Why refurbish your printer? Is it broken?
With humans' possible demise, some still care more about saving a few dollars.

do you remember if you need to have the USB cable, it looks like it doesn't come with it? Or if you can get them cheap anywhere?
What a disgraceful world we live in - where it's cheaper to buy a new printer and chuck it out once empty than buy cartridges.
Not going to throw it out - with a small hack the scanner continues to work. Besides I've got a couple of hundred acres with enough sheds that nothing gets thrown out - I've used stepper motors off printers for projects before.
The comment was not directed at anyone specifically, it's just most people would throw it out. Thankyou however for finding further use for your items =)
Stepper moters in printers these days are as rare as hens teeth. None of the new printers use them now. They use optical encoders on dc motors :( . I built a few projects with steppers and had to pull appart about 30 odd printers to get 4 steppers and most of those were from scanner portion that only has a tiny stepper :( .

Climate change is causing poverty and war. So the answer to your question (from me) is an emphatic yes.
Humans cause war and allow poverty to keep existing. Climate change, although humans contribute to impact, the verdict is still out on that one ( there has always been warming and cooling in earth history before man ).
But I agree that exes waste is a waste ( pardon the pun ).
So was man to blame for all earlier Ice ages, warming periods in history?
Still lot's of mixed up science results and outcomes both ways.
There is a lot of money to be made from "Carbon tax/control" and can even limit a countries economy, as well as selling supposed "Clean Green Products".

What will be the yield of pages with the original ink Cartidge please?
Can't give you a page number but this one lasted 12 months and two court cases (won both). What can I say? I don't suffer fools…I'd guess at 500 pages of black.

use less dots between words and you'll save on ink

Just search for hl-1110 toner on ebay sort but cheapest plus postage. I got the cheapest one I could find 6 months ago and it's still going fine.
the only thing its good for is scanning :)
