  • Egg flip?

    • doesnt sound good does it?

You are obviously showing your very junior age if you are mocking the Egg Flip Big M. Many an after school walk home in the 80's was with an Egg Flip Big M in hand. Greatest flavour ever to grace a milk carton!

Thanks i was feeling old, just turning 37 :)

          • +1

@Mikinoz: But I notice from your profile that you are from Sydney. Unfortunately, you had to put up with the inferior product known as "Moove" during the 80's. I am pretty sure Big M didn't venture outside of Victoria until the mid 90's.

            • +1

@elguapo: Ahh no wonder, perhaps we have better taste, although i know i am going to regret saying that lol

Ps Moove wasnt bad , Oak is the best though

              • @Mikinoz: I have to chuckle whenever anyone gets negged for a good gag, poor form indeed! :p

In the Hunter Region during the '70s, we had locally produced Oak flavoured milk, vastly superior to Moove & Big M!!! ;)

We used to get taken to the factory regularly for school excursions; where for the small chore of listening to the relatively brief lecture on homogenisation & pasteurisation, we got to drink our fill of the flavoured milk! Of course, most of us vomited on the old double-decker bus on the way home, but nobody seemed to mind! (Well, except maybe the bus driver) :D

@StewBalls: Egg flip, is that like egg nog? I love egg nog!

                  • +3

@lovedeals: Yep, everyone seems pretty jazzed about it being available again after all these years! I hope they don't get everybody excited then take it off the market again!

They might have to change the product name in that case to "back flip"! :p

                    • @StewBalls: i hope it goes down well with the jerky i ordered… :)

                      • @jv: Hmm, it may taste kinda like an omelette! :p

        • yessss!

  • I still reckon that they should've voted Blue Heaven back, but Egg Flip is a good second choice :o)

    • The only time i tasted Blue Heaven, the milk had gone off and i couldn't bring myself to try it ever again…

  • does it actually taste like egg? I couldn't think of anything worse but curiosity is getting the better of me!

    • +2

Have you tried "egg flip"? Blue Heaven was good but I liked egg flip the best :)

I think it's supposed to be like egg nog.

Kind of a creamy drink … there's a bit of cinnamon to it also

      • +2

I think it's nutmeg, not cinnamon. Also, it's all fake flavour (no real egg or nutmeg), but it's still very yummy (had one today).

It tastes mostly like vanilla with very subtle nutmeg flavour.

        • +2

          It's not 'fake' flavour, it's 'real' flavour…

If it was fake, you wouldn't taste it…

  • +3

    what's up with the cursor?

  • Oh darn, I thought this deal was about a free egg flip with a purchase of a Big M product from 7eleven… :(

  • Got given a free 'egg flip' at uni today. Kind of like a custardy taste, not too bad but not to my liking.

    • Yeah, I've not tried "egg flip", but that was also my first impression when I tried "egg nogg" from the supermarket one Xmas. Not unpleasant, but not really drink-like!

I did think about dipping my plum pudding in it to see how that went; but the appeal of hot, thick, Bingo custard was just too great! ;)

    • Are you from melb uni?

  • +1

Use to get the guy at the milk bar to heat them up during the winter as well. Think he just put the steam pipe from the coffee machine in for a few minutes. Coming home from school on a winters day it was a winner.

  • anyone else think it has a similar logo to Masters? lol just a little

if this is like egg nog, then it must be good. too bad WA doesn't have this flavour…? or do they?

  • I would like to try this, cause i don't mind Egg Nog, and have only recently started drinking it again. The name sounds pretty silly though, the image of a greasy fried egg being flipped in a pan is what comes to mind.

The Egg Nog flavoured milk does actually contain whole egg in it. But not this Egg Flip?

Fake nutmeg flavour? Why not just use nutmeg? That's like using cocoa flavour instead of actual cocoa in the chocolate milk. What's the point, can you really save money or time by doing that.

I feel slightly embaressed when drinking Egg Nog, cause i feel like there's negative stigma over a drink that has egg (raw?) in it. Like when i would eat tinned tuna at school, and other kids would say "gross".

I was surprised to see the ingredients on the back of a blue heaven syrup bottle in the supermarket, it had apple juice as the main ingredient. Is this common?

  • im pretty sure the barcode is unique, 1 barcode per redemption. dont waste your time print it out.

    • +1

Yeah the barcodes are unique. I received the same email but with a different barcode. This voucher won't work

      • So what if the barcodes aren't unique?

        • well then they are one use only……pretty obvious

  • +1

    According to this page http://www.7eleven.com.au/offers/index.php
Victorians can get 2 Big M's for $5 if the voucher doesn't work…
    Better than nothing I guess?

Also the cartons have "limited edition" on them, so yeah don't get attached to the new flavour :)

  • They were giving them out at Monash Uni the other day, I grabbed a couple and found they tasted like banana paddlepop :)

    • I think you need to go see a doctor about your faulty taste buds. Banana flavour anything is evil. Egg flip is like the nectar of the gods.

      • +2

What the , have you never tried Banana paddle pops?

  • I went down to get this, but they didn't have any :(
Had all the signage ready, just nothing to actually sell.
