Kogan: Is Anyone Else Receiving Broken Goods?

Hello Everyone,

So I bought a Balco 3d printer a month ago from Kogan, after assembling it the heating bed heat sensor wouldn't read, so it came up with an error.
I sent it back awaiting another, but they sent me a refund.
(Kogan sent it through Australia Post)

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered the Kogan 55" 4k Curved TV. It turned up today. I opened it and before I turned it on, I noticed bubbles on the bottom of the screen, then at the top I saw the screen was all cracked and bubbling forward in the middle.
The packaging of their TV was pretty good.
(Kogan sent it through Toll)

Should I be expecting this with every Kogan item?
Surely they must be losing money.

Have you guys had any problems with Kogan, or any other popular suppliers?

Cheers.
-James.

I bought some headphones and they looked second hand, packing had definitely been opened and they looked used. I complained and they gave me a voucher.

  • A little bit different, but once I bought a couple of little 30-pin bluetooth receiver adaptors (to turn a 30-pin iPod dock into a bluetooth device) and neither of them worked. I tried the 2 of them on 4 different systems including brands such as Onkyo, Pioneer and Panasonic. Kogan claimed the adaptors worked fine but I was using them with "unsupported devices".

At the time they were in Google's "Trusted Sellers" program, so I contacted Google and only then did Kogan respond with my options: send me replacement units or give me a store credit. I begrudgingly took the store credit, which had a 3 month expiry date on it. I notified Google what the outcome was and that I was surprised they didn't offer a refund. I got a stiff email from Kogan stating the reason they didn't offer me a refund was because I didn't ask for one specifically. Fantastic first (and last) customer experience.

  • I have spent hours on their website and never found anything I would have liked cheaper than locally.
A mate purchased a 50" TV there to use as a display in his shop window. He rarely turns it on as it looks cheap.
All his competitors use Highsense and they look a little bit sharper.

  • Kogan grey market goods are ok.

In terms of Kogan branded goods, they are cheap nasty generic products with a Kogan badge slapped on it. I wouldn't expect them to high quality as they are built to a price.

  • Wow, this result was different than I expected.

I must have just been unlucky.
