Travel SIM needed for Cruise Indonesia/Singapore

Hi,
I'm off on a cruise in a month or so… going through Indonesia and ending in Singapore.

Is there a SIM card i can arrange before i go that will give me calls and some data, just for contacting Taxis and hotels etc when I'm on land in Indo and Singa?

  I've had good experiences with the woolies one. Sometimes it goes on sale e.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/299366

  You might get a better deal buying a sim card locally when you land.

  I think buying before has advantages - you can give out your number to people before you go away (e.g. airbnb hosts), you can go through multiple countries without buying a new sim in each country. If you just want calls and texts, not data, I think their rates are not bad. If you want data a local one is probably better.
