Refurbished Goods, Specifically Dell - Worth The Saving?

Has anyone had any experience with buying refurbished units? Just want to get a rough idea on what to expect.

  • Bought a refurb phone not long ago new without packaging. No problems encountered

  • +1

I've never had any issues with refurbed stuff.

  • i always swap my retail purchased iphones for refurbs a few months after purchase.
    never had an issue

  • My refurbished Dell XPS13 laptop has been awesome.

    • thats awesome!

      I'm torn between the 13 and the 15 :(

  • Bought a refurb U2412M for like $150 or something and I use it everyday.

It has an inspection sticker on it (the ones you see on office equipment "cable tested") but otherwise it looked as new.

Other than I've bought a camera + lenses from sony.

Nil issues with any of the above

  • All good.
Bought an Inspiron refurb from Dell a few years back, still going strong - was around half the normal price.
They come with new warranty, some cooling off time (cant remember exactly maybe 15 days). Ordered it Friday afternoon, arrived on our door Tuesday 8am.

It arrived in an original box, no marks or scratches - only thing was the power supply was not in a plastic bag, just had a rubber band around it.

When I first booted and went to do a back up there was no invisible partition to be able to do the OS backup - contacted Dell via Chat and they posted out a Wndows OS usb stick. It arrived 2 days later.

would definitely buy a Dell refurb again when I am after another laptop.

(this was from Dell, not some other store saying its a refurb)
