The bulbs eliminates the hassle when you lie down in bed and realise you've left the lights on. You can turn your lights on or off from the convenience of your phone.

What if you left the phone in the kitchen?

      nice suggestion but:
      - targetted (and I wasn't targetted)
      - screw bulbs - I'm in Aus not US
      - out of stock

      • Damn, they are out of stock. I managed to buy the kit. I will be using the bulbs on my two Kmart-bought lamps that take screw bulbs.

      • My home must be a Frankenstein house as it has screw and bayonet fittings.

Come to think of it, shops in Australia tend to stock both, so I don't think it is an Aussie/US thing.

Wemo Link plus two globes - $49 at JB Hifi

Also, the globes have been $16 at Bunnings for a good few months, so check your local to see if they still have stock.

      • Excellent. Thanks. Do I need this? 😊

          Do I need this?

You're on the wrong site, dude.

        • @KentT:

          Pardon?

        • @tightwad:
The whole point of OzBargain seems to be to convince you to buy things you don't need.

If you find yourself asking if you need something, the answer is no.

        • @KentT:

          Only joking. I agree totally.

The product looks good, but I need to make sure I really need it. Great price (relative to other retailers) if it's useful!

  • I find these globes not bright enough as a primary room light at 100% brightness, but perfect for lamps. So i have one for each room lamp.

    • Yes you can get brighter LED bulbs than these. They are maybe 75W equivalent? (800 lumens) My lounge room fittings take 3 x bulbs, so it's fine.
