Sheridan are better quality for not much more.

    • Do you have a Link to current offers?

      • +5

You can subscribe with them: https://www.sheridanoutlet.com.au/
They have frequent sale with 70% off.
I think there is one on at the moment.

        • they don't seem to have any electric blankets though, unless I missed something?

        • @Safman: Nope they have everything else

        • @congngo: ah well, thanks anyway

    • Agree, go to the sheridanoutlet website, they have lots of deals and don't cost much more.

Not a big fan of Spotlight's return policy. Asks a 100 questions before refunding the money.

    • +2

It's not the best but it is slowly getting better. It was only a couple of years ago that customers had to fill out a whole page in one of those carbonless copy paper booklets! Those were dark times, there is no denying.
And now we make sure that no-one is bringing back any used costumes or bedding cause that's pretty gross right?

    • +1

      What sort of Questions?

This day and age most of the big box have great refund policies.

If it's change of mind I guess they can ask u what ever they like as change of mind is above our consumer entitlements.
If it's faulty I guess they would need to ask a few questions regarding the fault but other than that I don't see what they could possibly want to ask?

  • isn't spotlight always on special??

    Already special/sale fatigued.

    Must be june!

    • I have a feeling there will be more eBay promos to come!

      • +1

yes definitely. Since its hump month (and i think someone said all the deals are on Wednesdays) there will definitely be more deals. Since it started off with 15% off deals, the deals definitely won't get worth throughout the month. This means that i can confidently say that there will be 15% off deals for the next 4 wednesdays. Since it only makes sense that they finish off with a bang, its possible that they will have a 20% off with $200+ spend on the last day of sales.

    • Yes it surely is mixo! A day without specials at spotlight is a rare treat for staff. Comes around once or twice a year…

      • Looking for custom-made venetian or block out blinds in the near future. Any idea how often those 30-40% blinds sales come out?

        • +1

I can't recall custom made ever being on special. If it ever does it is certainly not too often.
A sale off the entire range of ready-made blinds isn't too common either. Usually sales are on specific styles of blinds.
Here are some of the ready-made blind specials for 7th to 25th June that might interest you:

50% Off Rylee Day Night Roller Blinds
40% Off Platinum Day Night Roller Blinds
40% Off Platinum Sunscreen Roller Blinds
50% Off Entire Range Of Timber Venetians (Excludes Clearance)
50% Off 25mm Aluminium Venetian Blinds

          Hope that helps!

        • +1

Scratch that. The entire range of custom made furnishings will be 30% off between 7th and 25th June 2017.

        • @foyya: Sweet thanks! Appreciate the reply and apologies for not replying earlier.

  • 2 x King Quilt cover sets delivered for $30 (albeit polyester), good deal for my spare beds to go with the Tontine quilts deal I bought.

What's wrong with the first link, the one for all blankets? It doesn't load for a while and then returns an error. Is it only me?

    • +1

      No same here

    • Seems like the link has been fixed but please note that it also links to throw rugs which are only 30% off rather than 50%.
Here is a link for blankets only:
      https://www.spotlightstores.com/search?q=blankets%3Arelevanc…

    • U can try going to main website then through the menu go to blankets

  • Picking up an electric blanket, cheers OP

If I can have a moment of your time for a quick poll…
I was legit going to post this deal when it began but then thought that it may be too general a sale and didn't want dismiss any deal posting guidelines. But this one seems to be pretty well received.
I have access to the complete list of sales in advance. Would ozbargainers want me to post Spotlight sales in the future? Maybe something like this. Please comment or plus/minus vote your thoughts.

The 50% off car park sheet sale, with the spend $100, save $40 voucher would have been better with some more notice.

      • +1

Indeed, I am a Spotlight member and never received the carpark promotion email.
Even the staff instore was not aware.
I had to pm Foyya who replied promptly!
I believe Foyya contacted the store in their own time, to get the system to update the prices.

As Foyya stated in previous posts, there are miscommunication issues between management and store level. Must be ex masters/dick smith employees in manaagment, lol

        • mmd, have you registered your email address to your VIP account? You can check this online here. Also, when you update your details, make sure you tick the box that says "I wish to receive special offers from Spotlight via: Email" and change your preferred method of contact to Email. If this doesn't work, check your junk email folder. Emails will come from "[email protected]".
Or, if you wait a couple of weeks, Spotlight is rolling out a brand new VIP system where we can update your details in store, among other things. You have no idea how long i have waited for this. Couldn't resist sharing!

        • @foyya:
Email is registered but I don't see the boxes. I'll just wait until the new VIP system and your posts :p

        • +1

@mmd: Here's a rough walkthrough of how to update your details on the website: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/130673/49525/vip.png
If you update before the beginning of the next promo on the 7th, you should receive the new coupon that comes with it.
Hope this helps you and others.

        • @foyya:
          Thanks Foyya! :)

You bet - go for it.
I wouldn't spend hours on formatting though - OB types will cope…

    • +1

      Please do!
I have scored some Spotlight bargains that are better priced than Kmart/Target.
Eg got a combined quilt cover, pillow cases and comforter set for $28!!! Add some other things, and the $40 off $100 spend made it a bargainception.
And I believe the quality is significantly better than Kmart/Target. Do you have an opinion on this foyya?

The only issue I can foresee is that some ppl may assume you work in management and can solve all their stock problems.

      • +1

Good point mmd, i'll make sure to mention that when posting.
As to quality, i think it really depends on what you're buying. Spotlight is the epitome of 'you get what you pay for' and purchases/prices their stock with a 'good, better, best' mentality. So, yes, some of our stock is super cheap and is of pretty 'good' quality. And some of our stock can be pretty overpriced, but is of the 'best' quality.
But every now and then you can get the best of both worlds when Spotlight produces a good voucher/bargain like what you mentioned above.

    • Thanks everyone for you time! I know 25+ votes isn't much but it's 100% positive and I'm keen to give it a go. So you can count on seeing a new deal from me very soon for Spotlight's next promo, including sales, info on our next voucher, as well as competitions, in-store events and prizes to be won!

  • Has anyone tried any of these electric blankets? I bought one from ALDI this week but took it back the next day because the controller ports dug into your body as you laid on it - stupid design!

    • Try something natural like a wool mattress topper and/or get yourself a better quilt.

      • It's more about being able to set different areas to different temperatures. My partner likes it a lot warmer than I do so it's hard to find a quilt that suits.

        • Have you considered using two single-sized quilts? You'd have the lighter one and your partner will have the heavier one. I might be crazy, but I might have seen somewhere that sells quilts or mattress toppers catering for two different temperature profiles (non-electric).

        • Here are some examples of quilts that have two different levels of warmth.
          https://supremequilts.com.au/collections/his-and-her-quilts

    • Or Spotlight has an electric mattress topper that provides extra padding to give a softer sleep.

    • You sure you had it the right way around?

      • Yeah, it was definitely the right way round. It was designed so that the cables could be removed for washing, but rather than plug into the end or side of the blanket there were these thick plastic ports about 15% of the way in from each side. It may have been fine if it was under the pillow, but it was below that, so dug right into your chest/shoulder/back depending on how you lay.

        • I have the plugs on the underside, so there's a little more padding between me and the sockets.

I also have a few layers of crap over the top of it - foam overlays etc.

No big deal for me, but i know what you mean without all that extra crap.

  • Thanks OP - needed to get some roller blinds this weekend and never thought of checking Spotlight.

    • U r welcome :) thats the reason y i posted this that it might b of some help to someone, although i had recieved this email for this sale quite few days ago, cheers
