USB wall charger - recommendations?

I would like something that I can plug in to a regular wall socket and which provides 2-4 USB charging ports for a variety of devices (phones, tablets, Kindles etc).

Safety, total capacity (e.g. don't want it to drop to 1A per port if two things are plugged in), and slimline are important to me, price not so important (willing to pay for quality and safety). Prefer upward facing USB ports over downward or outward as devices will be on counter not floor.

These have been discussed previously on OzB but most recent seems to be 2015 and the links mostly don't work.

I got one of these. Has been working flawlessly for over a year now. Big benefit for me is that it uses a standard IEC-C7 power cord. So when I go overseas, instead of power socket adapters or anything, I just take another power cable with the plug for the place I'm in.

    • Agree with this, happy with mine :)

  • A vote for Aukey. A bit more expensive than usual but you don't need to keep replacing them either. Powerful, lots of features and they just work as intended.

    • ^Agreed. Not that expensive.

I have an Aukey 5 port with QC 3.0. Here's the link from Aliexpress. No problems so far and like the tronsmart, uses the IEC-C7 cord (figure 8 style).

      Aukey
      Anker

These brands are highly reputable from my research. So pick your preference on ports and features like QC, USB-C.

Just make sure they can provide at least 50w of power. That would mean each port will output at least 10w (2Vx5A). 60W even better for slightly faster charging. QC for even faster charging.
