  • Not a bad price with free shipping… Full HD 1920 x 1080, LED and SONY :) so +1 for sure.

  • Yep nice price. I've been looking to buy a TV like this and a few weeks ago one of the best priced options was a Samsung for $1495 - now that's dropped to $995 or below. I saw a nice looking similar LG in JB Hifi for $991 ticketed price (so will probably reduce further.

So it's looking like prices of 32" Full HD LEDs are in the midst of falling at the moment.

I should say though that I saw a Sony (not sure if it was this one) sitting next to an LG in BigW, and the Sony screen didn't look as nice as the LG at all - it appeared to have a matte finish to the screen, whereas the LG in comparison appeared to have a gloss look to it - which to me makes the colour so much richer and fuller. I like the monolithic design of the Sonys but I think I'd plump for an LG or Samsung to get better overall quality and features. And probably value too.

not a great deal, its $999 at my local Domayne and i went to GG and without haggling they said $900 straight up…………..
would rather pay $4 more to get it from a local store…..but there is much more room for further haggling in that price

also if your in melbourne you can pick it up from digital centre for $939 with 3yrs wty + hdmi cable, plus u can haggle that price down further

Nice point and very good to raise, its informative and helpful and hopefully some can use this info to get a better deal. Thanks, but its not a valid reason to vote negative

Not everyone can travel to a Good Guys and that travelling costs vs this being delivered, the price you mentioned depends on the local good guy being good. Also the price is higher. Not by much, but still higher. So really its now a matter of deciding if you want to support local vs somewhere else.

Now thats a personal opinion rather than something being wrong with this deal.

Its like using a deal like this to get a better price at OW. Without the deal you cant get it price matched.

      Please read this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

fair enough. I only made the above comment because i have never heard of this "trusted" online site…

Travelling to local store vs' buying online and going through all sorts of crap to get problems/faults fixed…..you decide

everyone try their local good guys/domayne before buying this deal online.

i run this webpage for best prices on tv's and have atleast 7 differnt people from VIC and sydney buy this tv for around $800-$900 with 5yr wty included. at Good Guys/harvey norman/domaye/JB Stores…

        my site: http://hometheatreprices.pbworks.com/

also please note this TV is 50hz only!

snow - I made the point about the vote only. AS I indicated already your comments were fine and very welcome. They were helpful and informative.

Its just we have a different way of using voting here that people dont understand. That's why I pointed to the guidelines.

The stupid part is many think that removing an incorrect vote is disagreeing with their opinion. Its NOT its just correcting the misconception of what a negative vote is.

And ironically if there are too many negative votes both the deal and the good comments get lost as the deal disappears from the radar of most here.

        • I was wondering about the 50Hz restriction, so I went and checked the specs at http://www.sony.com.au/product/kdl-32ex600. The specs are not very clear as to what input formats it will take; they mentions 60Hz, but with some caveats:

Colour System: NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43 (AV in only), PAL, PAL60 (AV in only), SECAM
          Video Signal: 480/60i, 480/60p, 576/50i, 576/50p, 720/50p, 720/60p, 1080/50i, 1080/60i, 1080/50p (HDMI™ / Component), 1080/60p (HDMI™ / Component), 1080/24p (HDMI™)

So, bearing the parent post in mind, is Sony saying it supports 60Hz but with restrictions that make it not very useful? Not trying to be annoying… I'm pretty interested in a decent priced HD LED screen but I'd rather get one that does 60Hz as well, so any more info would be useful.

          • @snorbert: Hi Snorbert,

This question is a little out of my technical knowledge however the retailer is happy to speak with you direct to resolve any questions you have on this. If you would like to do so, please provide your contact details via the form on this page http://www.skimp.com.au/Contact_Us.aspx and we will get the retailer to get in touch with you. Please mention your question in the form so we know it's you!

      • What you say makes a great deal of sense, ozpete ;)

Being a mod isn't very easy and clear cut.

It's a shame that someone decides to neg your comment :(

Edit: Nice one kiddies waste all your negatives.
        I really care :( :( :(

  • Thanks for the comment and feedback. Just to let you know that this special is brought to you via Skimp.com.au but Skimp simply lets you know of great prices so the actual purchase would be with a bricks and mortar retailer whose name you will be familiar with. Unfortunately their name can not be released online for this deal however it will be disclosed once you have registered your interest to order the product.

This means that not only are you not actually dealing with an unknown online retailer but a reputable bricks and mortar retailer who provides a reliable contact for any warranty etc that you may require.

    • is it a australia wide franchise? or just a NSW franchise? or is it just one shop somewhere……just interested in costs of shipping if something goes wrong with tv? eg DOA

  • -1

The retailer offering the special has multiple stores based in Qld however the retailer also has stores in NSW, VIC, SA, WA, TAS.

To give you an idea of shipping, for this offer the retailer is offering delivery for just $40 to areas that are outside of the free shipping region (such as Perth and Hobart).

I do have a question regarding Skimp though. As a consumer we are registering your service to show interest — however is there a guarantee that this price can be achieved? Most group buy won't even be able to secure the product unless enough people are interested in it.

  • +2

With Skimp there is a guarantee that this price can be achieved and it is offered for sale at this price for a limited time. Whilst Skimp does leverage bulk buying power to get great prices from retailers we aren't a "group buy" site in that it doesn't require x number of individuals to activate our specials.

    • Any chance of leveraging a good price on a 40/42" :)

      • +1

Sure, we can see what we can find for you. Can I suggest you fill in a quote request form at Skimp on the product/s that you are after and we'll get some quotes for you from multiple retailers to find you the best price we can. The process normally takes up to 24 hours its all free to get a quote.

        The form is here: http://www.skimp.com.au/Request_a_Quote.aspx
