I cannot fathom an OzB spending that amount on a brolly !
Whatever happened to our beloved WoodWorm umbrellas ?

    • +1

True.. RRP = $89 Yeah right..

    • +3

Woodworm was the worst quality umbrella I've ever used, it went inside out literally the first use.

      • You're not meant to sit on them.

        • Feels good when you open it though.

        • Yes, you did mention it went inside out.

I've always had the good sense to lose mine before breaking them.

      XS Metro Umbrella - $60

These are for small Metro men

    • I miss Woodworm :(

    • I found the Woodworm ones very sturdy but they don't handle wind very well. Not talking about it inverting (I never had mine invert once) but the thing is practically a sail. The moulded plastic grip is slippery and strains your hand as you cling onto it hoping it doesn't fly out of your hands. Very good coverage for rain protection though.

A friend of mine recently bought the regular sized Blunt umbrella and the thing looks and feels very well made.

Add the CRACKA20 coupon to the post. Also postage is $11, should add this to the title.

Great Umbrella, very sturdy. Have had mine for a year with no problems.

    • Some one is loaded..

      • +2

Meanwhile i bought 5 x $15 umbrellas in a year, so I'm even more loaded!!!!!!

  • I like these umbrellas when I first saw them. Except the price is just too hard to swallow. I'd probably consider buying it if it was half price.

    • +1

I think it's one of those things, you can buy clothes for$5-$10 but spend more with the thought it's better quality and will last longer.

      • +1

You won't forget and leave your clothes on the train though.

        • So you have a $5 bag, $5 phone,$5 sunglasses too I guess.

        • Nope, because I always put those things in the pockets of my clothes.

Having followed the blunt umbrella for so long, I can confirm this is a great price.

So thanks, OP and please ignore the usual cheapskates who can't understand paying for a quality umbrella that can withstand 50mph winds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9SLPNwW1TQ

This is a phenomenal umbrella, as long as you don't leave it somewhere its a great investment

    • +6

What kinda returns you getting on that investment?

      • -1

        4% but very low risk.

$13 shipping for me. Would probably consider if I had click and collect as an option, considering I've bought an umbrella every couple of years due to breakage

  • wanted one for a while, bagged it. thx.

  • I'm in Adelaide. Not sure about the umbrella but I would spend that money on some rain.

  • Anyone know if this fits in a normal sized handbag? 35cm seems too big to carry everywhere and forget it's there.

    • Its larger than most compact umbrellas, I received mine and was a little shocked at the size of it, I was planning to keep it in my laptop bag but was too big.

  • From reading the posts, I'd say do not consider this unless you live in Sydney, as even postage to a nearby suburb (Alexandria) is $7. EACH.

I actually just ordered 2, I didn't know they had a store in Alexandria for Click and Collect, along with the regular Kensington store. I know it's expensive, but we will see if it's worth the price at $60. The coverage is a bit smaller than a typical compact umbrella.

  • Thanks op just bought one.. second for our house. Great umbrellas.

  • Why no one use this yet? Completely New design and approach. Check all the photos.

    • I saw that on youtube and thought it was a great idea but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have a compact version.

  • This umbrella is good but is small.

Alternative ones are Repel / Lifetek on Amazon with lifetime warrently & 2 yr warrenty for $40 inc shipping and are top sellers.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0160HYB8S/ref=od_aui_deta… link for people, on sale at the moment as well.

For a more premium one, Davek $100+ but shipping..

    • I have the Blunt G1 and love it, was also considering a matching XS Metro however the price was harder to swallow compared to the G1 for me as the G1 represented better value.

Recently bought the Repel as I've read good reviews, it's a good size for a single person. Have yet to properly test it in the rain as Melbourne has held off despite having consistent grey skies. The lifetime warranty on the Repel was also very attractive.

  • Good umbrella, I've owned one for 4+ years. Only issue is that it is quite small and will probably only cover a single person (183 cm tall).

  • Are these gold embossed or something?
