Complimentary Qantas Lounge Passes from Banks

Hi all, recently got myself and my partners anz cards which gives us 2x lounge passes into qantas. I already have 2 others + 2 more from westpac coming.

Theres no way I would use 6 passes in the next 12 months so i was planning to sell a few. Problem is the ones from anz look like a stock standard lounge pass but it says "ANZ" on the front.

Do the clerks check if you have an ANZ card on entry if thats the case? Because that would obviously limit the ppl that can buy these passes off of me.

Thanks in advance

Can't recall if my passes from ANZ had 'ANZ' on them, but definitely didn't check if I had an ANZ card. I think this was about 6-12 months ago.

    • Cheers mate, yeh I've got 2 generic ones and 2 from ANZ that look exactly the same, just with ANZ on the front printed as well. Just wanted to make sure.

They just want to see and collect the pass. The lounge is hardly exclusive these days and resembles a food court

Absolutely agree. Which is why if some muppet wants to pay $50 to enter a food court, im happy to sell

      • I wouldn't pay the $50 but if I had it for free I'd use it. The shower/clean bathroom is totally worth it.

  • Yes they have ANZ or WPAC depending on issuing bank but lounge dragons do not check

  • I got some too through St George (probably same type?). But need to be conscious of the fine-print: with mine, you can only use them if your next flight is with Qantas.

    • or jetstar i thought. I've definitely used them before flying Jetstar only.

      • Yes, or Jetstar. Same thing :)

        • I thought you could only ever enter an airline's lounge if your flight is with them? Unless you are like triple ultra platinum or something.

        • @djkelly69:

Jetstar is owned by Qantas. Qantas lounge valid for Qantas and Jetstar flights.

        • @Ughhh: Yes I know.

I was referring to I like bacon's comment that you can only use them if your next flight is with Qantas (or Jetstar).

I was saying this has always been the case as far as I am aware. You can't go in the Virgin lounge (for example) if you are not flying with them.

        • @djkelly69: generally correct but in many cases you can also use an airline's lounge if you are flying with their alliance partners.

For example, Qantas being a oneworld partner airline, if I was flying with another oneworld airline in business/first, or if I had oneworld elite status and was about to jump on a oneworld flight in economy/PE, Qantas would let me into their lounge
