Fantastic price on this very popular camera, $2-$3 less than recent GearBest/Geekbuying deals. Not sure how long it's available for

Here's a bunch of hacks to enable rtsp streaming/disable the cloud functionality: https://github.com/samtap/fang-hacks

They do really well during the day, during the night they're next to useless unless you're dealing with close range.

I use them with RTSP and iSpy running on an old junk machine.

Are you showing it to your postie in the first one?

      • +1

That's exactly what I was thinking. It must be a response to "why do you get so many parcel deliveries?"

        • +1

Hehehe. That's actually my Dad. I buy fun things and he likes to show them off.

          The posty's a cool guy too :)

        • -1

          @duk242:

Wait.. the postie is actually your Dad?

          ;)

    • how are you powering it up there?

      • USB, it comes with a reasonable length lead, so I just poked it out the window and the magnetic base sticks on the downpipe.

    • iSpyConnect ?

      • +1

Yep. Blue Iris is another good one, but it costs money.

iSpy Connect is free for most stuff and seems to just work.

  • I keep getting connection timed out :(

Be careful buying anything from these scumbags.

My first and last purchase through them for the mi fit bands I paid for express shipping, they sent it regular mail. When I asked them about it they said they couldn't send express due to batteries being in the box but they still didnt refund me the extra I paid for express.

Then they gave me some fake paypal refund info saying they had refunded it when they hadn't even processed it.

Trying to get a refund through paypal even after they've admitted fault and said they would refund is a joke. If you make a purchase through these pricks make sure its through your credit card not a bank account so when you do get ripped off you can resolve it locally.

Cost me $23.93 via paypal and citibank. AUD must be dropping :)

  • +2

Tempting price but for an extra $2USD, I personally would prefer Gearbest over these guys. Have placed two orders in the last year and regretted it on both occasions.

      • why was one of my orders cancelled??

i placed 2 orders if you cannot ship me 2 i will cancel both orders.

  • Got myself another one. Thanks

  • I've been charged $32 postage. Although somewhere in the thread it says continue to checkout and you can see a free postage option, it just charged PayPal for the amount with shipping added. Bugger.

    • you can only buy one at a time. I bought 3, on 3 separate orders, which works.

  • There's no free shipping option anymore?

    • morning dear, just confirmed, free shipping is still available, do you mind check again? please note that discount and free shipping is only available on AU and US location and only 1 unit per order

      • OK thanks - yes I was trying to order two in the same order

  • BE MINDFUL GUYS, This camera doesn't send the email with photo capture at the time of Motion Detection. Also the cloud recording is inaccessible when camera is offline/stolen/lost etc..

    • I'd be surprised if Google.com was accessible with no internet.

    • 100% correct that it won't send you an email photo with motion detection?

Cos if true, then I will not be buying …

  • Can this record continuously?

Are people using ispyconnect to get into cloud?

  • Really strange that when i try to pay with Paypal my only options are my AMEX, Paypal Balance and Bank eCheque!! I have a 28 Degrees on my Paypal that isn't appearing! I even re-added it and it still doesn't appear… why!!!???? Logging into Paypal separately has all my cards. Not expired! Did notice it was US Paypal site… does that mean anything??

  • Received mine earlier in the week, that was quick! (I did pay the extra $0.49 USD shipping "insurance")

  • -1

Just got mine. Didn't work :(

    • Never mind. Works now :)

  • Has anyone been able to connect to the camera using the Mi Home app? I could add the camera in the app, but when I try to access it, it complains that it only works in mainland China (even though my profile in the app is already set to mainland China…)

  • Received mine today :)
    connected mine.

Hi guys, just contacted the rep, and there are additional 500 pcs has been added in stock with the discounted price!

  • +1

I brought one from last time this deal was around came on tuesday actually, its a decent camera with the average quality youd expect, the ir light isnt strong you wont be getting much distance on these outside without any ambient light you wont really get much inside either. I had no problems with setup make sure your app is set to mainland china, youll also need a xiaomi account to add the camera. I hacked mine straight after setting it up no problems there either someone linked to this guide before

    http://www.gadgetvictims.com/2017/04/rtsp-hack-for-xiaomi-mi…

and it explains the steps easily one quick addition to it when powering up make sure you wait for the led to turn solid blue before inserting the SD card. I used zoneminder to monitor the camera but I find that it keeps crashing so ill have to find another app that will do it for me or tweak the setting to stop zm from crashing. All in all not a bad buy for the price, we use ours with home assistant to check whether the garage was left open.

  • Do I need a coupon code for this? The site linked is $114.95

    • hi dear, this deal is special make for OZB, so the discount only available for AU location people, please check your address

      • How can I order two and get free postage in one order? Or do I have to make two separate orders?

        • morning dear, you need make two separate orders to get free shipping.

        • @MiniInTheBox: Tried to reorder today but price have gone up.

        • +1

@k0ka2: just checked with supplier, the 500 discount stock has been sold out, you guys are so crazy lol. i will try to apply for more stock, and make a new deal. will give you feedback later

        • @MiniInTheBox: Thanks. Just bought another at USD17.99. Please note comments below about the shipping labels. Maybe a protective clear tape over the shipping address may help parcels from going missing.

  • Ordered 21/06
    Received 10/07

This is my second order of the camera from these guys. Better turn around time than first time in February which took over a month. But this time they included an Aussie travel adapter.

    • I ordered on 14/6 with free shipping. Was shipped on 16/6. Received item today 10/7. I noticed the ink used on the shipping label rubs off easily. Luckily there was just enough info left to make out the address. The postie had to hand write the address back on the label. This could have caused the delay.

      • I noticed the ink used on the shipping label rubs off easily.

        yep same with mine

        • haven't gotten mines yet, so u mean our addresses was written in texta? thought this company was proper business, they should be printing the address. seriously orders can be mixed up, now how much longer..

        • +1

          @shadOzer:

No no k0ka2's was by someone at oz post I guess. Their label was printed out like mine, but the ink is low quality and fades really easily. Mine didn't need a manual human re-write.

        • +1

@CVonC: oh right, thanks for clearing that up.

    • i didnt get an AU adaptor in mine.. :(

  • Got mine yesterday.. thinking of getting another
