$20 Cheaper than the previous HN deal. Combine with discounted JB Hifi giftcards for further savings.

Quickest way to get 5% jbhifi giftcards is to use cashrewards to buy $1200 worth of wish egiftcards and then going to woolies and buying 12 * $100 jbhifi giftcards.
Total cost would be ($1200 * .95)$1140+74 = $1214

  • shit…i just bought one when they're selling for 14xx…damn!

  • +1

I bought one from Harvey Norman on Friday, got a keyboard with it for $1450 total (keyboard at $156).

Invoice says Pro is at $1294, so they'll give now give me $20 back (as per their Price Match Guarantee)

    • Thanks @googoogaga and @berko_max. My partner also bought one from Harvey Norman few days ago and just got $20 back from the price match! Cheers.

      • Glad to see I'm not the only one, was feeling really tightarse about it when I got my refund…

  • Are these surface pro realy that good?

    • Yes, they really are that good :)

      • Guess I'll have to start using those Harvey Norman gift vouchers for these then. Hopefully HN can do a good deal for the tablet, keyboard and pen.

        • +1

Pen comes with for anything above m3 for the current models, and I agree its pretty nice, basically a laptop in a tablet form, you know you're on to something when apple are trying to replicate

        • Surface pro comes with the pen! As I said, got them to do the keyboard for $156. Better then any 20% ebay deal on official ones.
Just ordered a spare one through this deal. Ready for pickup already!

Need to go to K-mart for a $8 sleeve now.

        • @berko_max:

Just be careful using those sleeves. Saw a bloke's surface fall out of one. The stitching had come apart. He told me he had alot of files and that caused his surface to weigh more, which in turn caused the stitching to come apart

        • @tith: he should have emptied his recycle bin. Might have made it a bit lighter

    • yeah i'm Mac pretty much most of the way.

Work asked me to trial it maybe a couple of years ago the first of the pro 3 as an alternative to laptops that couldn't really be used as a laptop because they had screwed the build. System engineer quit the day after i pointed out why.

Effectively thousands of laptops that couldn't be used effectively on networks without being at your desk and docked.

The Surface in a work environment is awesome anything under 8gig should be binned as more software packages are running in 64bit so it requires more than 4gig of Ram and VM won't do.

it's the only machine i'd happily replace my macs for at the moment. just not necessary as mine is from work. provides good separation.

      lessons learned

they have quite a high failure rate for the most random reasons - Sometimes you can hard reset and a couple of other tricks to get them back other than that DEAD, suggest warranty strongly.

We have found tough cases etc. didn't make a whole lot of difference in the failures. as i said failures have been highly random.

they take a learning curve as to how you use it and it adapts i.e. if your using it docked then move to another location using wifi. it kinda needs time to learn these quirk's it can seem temperamental at first.

You will learn to write again, i've almost always got onenote running and scribbling on that or other documents constantly.

If you have a dock set up i use it as the third screen the bulk of my work is on the main monitors and i've got the Surface there to take notes and keep some of the other distractions out of the way.

It's the first thing i've believed Microsoft has actually had the right team of talent working on something. i hope it just keeps getting better as it evolves.

  • Do I jump on this now or wait a couple of more weeks to see if it comes down further once the SP2017 is released tomorrow, thoughts? I don't want to miss out but I'm not in any rush.

@nightelves - yes, yes they are!

  • Page not found?

  • I ordered one of these this afternoon, got order recieved email at 13:37, order confirmed email at 13:47, and then a phone call at 14:50 to tell me that they didn't have any left anywhere :-(
What am I to do with the vouchers that I bought just to buy this product and its keyboard that I do not think I can get a refund for?

    • bummer :( dw just hold on to them, another surface sale is bound to happen with the new surface released and EOFY just around the corner

    • You can give those vouchers to me if you dont want them.
