Looking for LEGO 21309 - NASA Apollo Saturn V

I don't collect LEGO, but there's one kit I just saw that I really like and it seems to be selling at a premium if it can be found at all: LEGO NASA Apollo Saturn V, item 21309.

Any LEGO experts here who can tell me how I could get this at a price not too far above RRP?

Thanks!!

If you live near a Lego store, either Chadstone or Dreamworld, you could buy it there.
If you want it cheaper than the rrp you would have to look for an online seller overseas that has them.
Otherwise wait and eventually one of the retailers here will get it. I think maybe Target will get this one but it will be a while.
I just bought it from Lego Chadstone and it is definitely worth getting.

    • All retailers seem to be out of stock now, and eBay sellers are charging something like $100 over RRP.

Lego online will get more stock.
Because it is so popular it has sold quick.
If it is on back order and you can put your order in then do that and wait.
Just remember that free postage is $200 so add something else to the order to get free postage.

He was my goto guy for DoctorWho sets when they first release.

eBay is where the brandons of this world go to scalp LEGO, only purchase LEGO from eBay if it's from an Ausssie bricks and mortar store on sale, Myer, Target, Big W etc

    A couple of options:

    1. $169.99 from lego.com, though out of stock right now, add it to your wishlist and find something else to purchase to bring the total up to $200 for free shipping (It's $30 shipping otherwise)

    2. Bricklink, it's not the simplest of sites to navigate so here's a few links:
2a Australian based sellers of this set here (Currently there are none)
2b Australia and Oceania based sellers of this set here (Currently 2 at $189.10 and $201.70)
2c Anywhere in the world here (49 sets starting at $173.40)
2d LEGO 21309 - NASA Apollo Saturn V price guide here - Current average price is $196.48

    • Thanks. If I add it to my wishlist, will it automatically be reserved or move to the cart when available?

      • I'm not sure, I'm guessing no, I've added it to my wishlist so time will tell I guess

Don't know about lego but we saw a real life Saturn V at Kennedy Space centre a few years back. Really cool. If you get a chance to go there then do. I was about 8 when the moonlandings were telecast. It was so cool to be able to wander around and see all the old kit.

    • That would be awesome!!

  • lego store in chadstone has heaps

  • Why do you want to buy a fictional item? We never went to the Moon. /S

It's only temporarily out of stock on Lego's official site. Sign up with an account, add it to your wishlist and wait for the email to say it's back in!

    • I've now added it to my wishlist and hope it comes back in stock long enough for me to move it to my cart.

There seems to be plenty of scalpers on eBay selling recent LEGO sets. Who is buying from these sellers?

Both Myer and Hobby Co staff have said that they will be getting physical stock in August. I suggest registering at say Myer, although, one of my friends went to register at a CBD store only to be told that their waiting list was "full"

  • chadstone lego store back in stock

    • do you get any polybags with purchases?

      • Nope

    • Yep. Managed to get one last Friday. At that stage they had 3 left - probably gone by now. shop4me will also have them in stock come August.. No need to pay stupid scalpers prices - Lego will keep making these well until 2018 & soon enough they will be 20% everywhere :)

  • Back in stock in Chadstone. They had 5 units on display. The sales guy said they usually sell out within a week
