Expired Deals on The Front Page

So lately with all these Ebay deals and codes that only last a short period of time, the front page is becoming just a list of expired deals…… can a system be implemented to demote expired deals off the front page after a set amount of time?

Mod: My Account - Edit - Deals - Do not show expired deals

  • and in a similar vein, can an 'EXPIRED' tag appear on the live page automatically?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/24206/edit/deals

Try going there. You will find the answers you are looking for.

    • Page is denied for me, but I do understand going to "https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals" essentially overcomes this problem by sorting by submission time… but then you might miss a deal posted a couple a days ago that hasn't expired..

Oh sorry - it's got my user ID in it (24206) - replace with yours, or go to settings on your profile and goto the deals tab.

It lets you remove expired posts from the front page.

oh, thanks, didn't realise this information.. I guess this thread can be closed now lol.
It would be nice to have a toggle button at the top to hide / show expired deals though, rather than going into settings..

There is a good reason why all the expired deals continue to show on the front page…

To make me furious about all the great deals I have missed out on by actually working instead of constantly refreshing Ozbargain!

    • Yep, Scotty has it out for ya :p
