    I got the V681 recently in the $699 deal (Australian version).

    Very happy with it.

    V781 would be even better for not a lot more!

    Side question, is the app to control these still as terrible as it used to be about 2 years ago?

      The Yamaha app on the play store has a bit better rating than the one to control the Marantz and denon receivers and I know that the control for the latter is absolutely terrible. Good chance that they improved upon it since you last used it but I wouldn't expect too much of it.

      I can only compare it to the Pioneer 2013 App, and so far I have found the Yamaha much more responsive with instant connection to wifi for airplay via my ipad.

        After removal of VAT and with £10 discount for answering a few survey questions, the cost including shipping is £432.66 (AU$726.5) from Audible Fidelity. For the Denon AVR-X2300W, the cost is £409.33 (AU$687.7).
