Double Pass to Transformers: The Last Knight, 20/6 $8.95 @ Promotix (VIC, WA, SA) [Promotix Members]

TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT - Preview

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero.

Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference.

In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.

In Cinemas: June 22, 2017
Director: Michael Bay
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock

    Knight!

  • Requires subscription membership: $35 for 12 months.

  • will it be shown in Imax screen or just the normal cinema? (referring to the VIC location)

    • Normal cinema.

    LOL:

    Please Note:
An embargo applies to this event
By attending this screening, you agree on behalf of yourself, and on behalf of the publication(s) / outlet(s) you contribute to, to abide by the below review embargo: >No reviews, social postings or social reactions of ‘TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT’, are to appear earlier than WEDNESDAY 21 June 9:01am AEST in any form.

    • +1

Embargos are pretty standard for prescreenings of movies, although in my experience it's usually the bad ones that enforce it (but not always).

    • Feel like we should give our reviews on the movie, but name it "the film that shall not be named" instead.

  • Great post OP.
But cant make it during the week.😔

  • +1

Bit of a scam. I signed up to get the free tickets only to be told I need to pay $35 to become the level of membership required to get these.

OP should put in the headline you have to pay $35 to get the 'free' tickets.

    • +2

Scam is a bit harsh. To be fair, it does mention Promotix VIP Members in the desciption.

But yes, should probably change the title to specify VIP members, and should include in the detail that it costs $35 to become a VIP member (for those who missed the previous deal).

    • +1

Not a scam but definitely targetted. I managed to get the VIP freebie membership but not at all interested in this show. They aren't "free" tickets anyway you still have to pay the booking fee.

  • Transformers: About Last Night

    • I'm more likely to watch this.

    • +1

Coming to a RedTube near you!

  • +1

    VIC now OOS

    • Received the email at 2.08PM and it was OOS by 2.40PM when I checked. VIC lot are quick, I'll give you that.

  • +4

Be careful with this deal, guys. There is more than meets the eye.

    • care to elaborate more?

      • +8

        Whoooooosh

      • +1

        haha…. oh no

      • robots in disguise.

  • Anyone been to one of these preview screenings? What's it like>? any different to just going to a normal movie?

    • +1

I've been to the recent "The Mummy" screening at the Crown Casino, free complimentary drinks as well(wine, beer, softdrink) all in all very good experience.

    • Depends on how it's marketed, it can be as simple as a normal movie - or as extravagant as preshow drinks with entertainment. I went to the prescreening of The Water Diviner and it was an open bar with canapes, then a pre recorded message from Russell Crowe.

    • Usually the advance/preview screenings will have all the die-hard fans dressed up in costumes etc, so it's a pretty good atmosphere, even if the movie sucks

      • I've never got free booze, but sometimes you get free softdrinks and popcorn (like Baywatch), and sometimes they hide goodies under the seats for people.

The size of the screen also varies. Sometimes Vmax, mostly normal.

        • +1

I am not looking under the seats at cinemas - <Diety> knows what you will find there.

  • $8.95 "booking/admin fee" kills this deal, IMHO. They shouldn't be advertising it as "complimentary tix" in the email if they're not actually complimentary. But sure, if you're already a Transformers fan and were planning on seeing it anyway, then I guess 2 tickets for $9 is still good value.

But sure, if you're already a Transformers fan and were planning on seeing it anyway

      G1 FTW!
      Not this new crap.

Still, less screwed up than what JJ has done to Star Trek and Star Wars.

    • +1

Not a huge fan, wasn't planning on watching it at the movies, but $9 for two tickets is too good to turn down

  • +1

OP please add "VIP" to title as not available for free membership level.

  • +4

I think I'll give it a miss even for free….number 2-3-4 killed the series for me…

  • +2

Oh God, not another one :(

  • +1

So how much do you get paid to sit through this?

  • Director: Michael Bay

    Yeah, no thanks.

  • Anyone knows if we can redeem a second pair of tickets if we pay $8.95 admin fee again?

    • Nope. You can only get 1 lot per login.

  • There's more to this deal than meets the eye.

  • +1
Hrrrmmmm no QLD, smells like Decepticon foul play here.
    • +1

Now that you've said that, they should rename Deception Bay to Decepticon Bay

  • +1

How much do I pay not to watch a Transformers film? insert cackles

    • +1

Yeah, when you're 80, how much would you pay for 2.5 hours of your 'youth' back?
Don't waste it sitting through this shit

  • Did anyone in victoria get an extra double pass for me? :)

  • I guess you can't get free tickets under your own membership & then give to a friend (I presume the tickets will be in your name & they ask for ID)?

    • Officially no, but I have never been asked for ID.

    • Oh hello, now we're talking :)

  • I was going to buy two more tickets for my 3 boys when I first asked the question about it yesterday. Obviously too late now since all the WA tickets are sold. So would love two more tickets if anyone in WA can't make it last minute, and are happy to on-sell your two tickets to me. Please do PM me if you can help out. TIA. :)
