Time to Ban GearBest Again?

I ordered the CR-10 3D printer on the 29/05/2017. I just received a ticket on the 15/06/2017 from Gearbest to saying they can't full fill my order. But as you can see the item is still for sale at a higher price. I just got processed the refund on the 19/06/2017 and they are still selling the printer with about 140 in stock. I didn't even use the code to reduce the price further. I tried to message the Gearbest rep to look into my order and check whats happening and didn't get a reply either. Bad form by Gearbest, I guess its time to ban them again?

also to add, I did a dummy order and they seem to be happy to allow me to purchase it at the new higher price too. Just shows what kind of company we are dealing with.

    Ban!

    • +7

huh? Who the f*** upvotes unhelpful, sarcastic and whiney posts like this? Take a good hard look at yourself you drongos!

  • I would say its a shipping issue? Message them here? Did you pay extra for shipping or was it free? They have a system glitch which allows free shipping on large items but they wont send it because it cost to much.

    Bad service yes!

    Ban no!

    • I paid $18.50 shipping and got the same message.
When I asked for an explanation, they repeated same message.
The rep here didn`t do anything.

      • +1

Sorry for late reply,I ask for leave yesterday, pls PM me your order number and let me check for you now.

    • I also paid for shipping too. If they can't full fill orders then why keep selling? I can understand if the item is out-off stock and no longer on sale. But this doesn't seem the case.

      • Any news mate? last time i ordered lithium batteries i paid about $15 shipping because of the new rules.

I got the email that Gearbest processed the refund but haven't seen it refunded to my credit card yet. And I haven't got a reply from the Rep after my pm since the 16/06/2017. I would recommend that you process a charge back through your credit card or paypal dispute if you haven't received your items yet.

        • @Demux:
My refund to credit card happened today.
Gearbest paypal return 19/06/17 and in my credit account 22/06/17.

        • @Demux: Did they say why they wouldn't ship the item?

        • @aussieprepper:
This is what they sent me.

Thank you for your recent order at Gearbest.com.
This is an update about following item:
          193736302*1,Creality3D CR - 10 3D Desktop DIY Printer
We are sorry to let you know that we cannot ship it at this time.

GB told me to buy something else or leave in GB wallet or refund.
At the time of this message there were over 250 available at a higher price.

        • @aussieprepper: Same as Bargain Boy's message.

  • Unsure if this is serious enough for a ban. In the meantime you can neg their deals to warn other users.

I waited 3 months for something once. It was cheap and I guess it outweighed the freight time.

customer service sucks in china, they are doing their absolute best.

Id like to ban tiger airways and jetstar but there is always a cheapsake willing to fly at a budget price. So the ban is futile.

  • Can't fulfil or can't ship?

    2 separate things.

A comment in the post stated 'can't ship' which could mean their shipping company/our customs won't allow it.

    • So does that mean this product will never be available to me ?

We are sorry to let you know that we cannot ship it at this time.

I`m sure other people in Australia received their printer.

One always slips through every now and again.. If ten more people on this forum come up and say the same st ory then I guess yes ban but for now it seems like a one off slip up it happens let's just hope it doesn't keep on happening.

At least they refunded your money, right? There is a reason why the company is called GearBest and not ServiceBest. They sell good gears but the good service doesn't come with it :D

  • +3

I have bought quite a few things from gearbest and never had a problem. But maybe my expectations aren't that high when buying something for a rock-bottom price with free shipping from a company that sells millions of items. Yes they will occasionally stuff up

GearBest cannot ship the order! They are now selling printers! Sad! #MakeOzbargainGreatAgain #MOGA

  • +2

    and you're suprised?

  • Sorry, can't confirm. My 3D printer took a week to pack and ship out but arrived quickly after that.
They also included a power adapter an a metre or two of PLA which weren't on the parts list and a kindness on their behalf.

I did favorite a different item and see it go on "sale" marked down from $45 to $46.50 though, so while I'm currently
happy to order from them again, I'll double check before doing so as I would at any discount type place.

  • Received all my items from Gearbest, shipping wasnt the fastest but for the price I could live with it. Have ordered about 7 items from GB.

Still waiting on an order from early May. That's after giving them a second chance, after my last order with them ended in a PP dispute. I say ban them!

  • +1

I was waiting for over a month for an ezbook pro 3, I eventually gave up and got money refunded.

    • That sucks, I got my Ezbook 3 from them in a couple weeks

  • GearBest are known for taking orders for products they don't yet have in stock. If you email their customer service they will even confirm this for you - it doesn't seem to be something they're ashamed from.

GearBest shipping can actually be surprisingly fast (had a DHL order arrive <48 hours), the long wait times are due to them not stocking the products they sell. I guess that's the tradeoff of getting a good price.

  • I've ordered from them before, perhaps 5 times?
one item never arrived but they showed me images of my dispatch so I can only say it's lost by Australian Post. It was only something around 4 dollars so I thought, what the heck.

The recent purchase (those tiny LED lights) 5 for 5 cents or something just arrived yesterday. probably took what, 2 or 3 weeks? wasn't counting.

GB is a hit and miss but in your case, I reckon they need to honor it. They took the order, transaction confirmed and you waited for a delivery update. it is not expected for the customer to contact the dealer after an automated response with confirmation number is received by email.

  • to share my experience:

I ordered two of the xiaofang cameras, came opened box (security tape cut and was retaped). not fussing over whether its a reconditioned or used item, but am worried the hardware was in any form "tampered". took it to the rep and also via their customer service, rep eventually settled the issue amicably. whilst i applaud the rep for trying to rectify issues, the buying experience could have been better

    • their website customer service will try their best to fob you off by throwing you some silly points or very nominal sum of goodwill in hope you go away. persist with what you want in settlement or ask for refund
    • their website customer service tried to shaft the blame to customs and quarantine. unfortunately for them, the packaging box they shipped the cameras with came with other stuff and it was all packed nicely with no sign of customs inspection. if you also received such excuses, check for facts and dispute with them
    • while the GB rep here tried his/ her best to come up with a satisfactory resolution, you do need to constantly push for response and trying to resolve and move on can take days or weeks

for clarity: i think i got the older version of the xiaofang (the one with the knob for the setup button), didnt read up on which version was the latest but saw a previous post implying the knob was the older version

personally its no fault of GB rep, but in my opinion i would not purchase anything expensive or security sensitive items with them in future. GB is still good for cheap gadgets though

    Happy shopping fellow ozbargainers

    • Sure it wasn't customs that opened the box?

Maybe start watching boarder security :)

stop watching too much tv and start doing your homework, its not even the school holidays yet

I like Gearbest…the thrill of receiving something months after the purchase was long forgotten adds excitement to my life.

Please only buy cheap stuff from GB and assume you will never see itin the same calendar year if at all.

  • +1

Purchased a Mi TV box from them in March. Never arrived. Contacting them through their website proves fruitless since they'll just waste your time getting you to confirm postage details they obtained from PayPal. They'll insist you chase it up with the local post office and will then resort to pleading for more patience. How many more months do they need? Opened a PayPal dispute in which they didn't have the courtesy to respond.

Long story short, avoid GearBest like an ATM where the local bums have started to pan handle beside.

I have made 70+ orders from Gearbest since 2015 and only 5 or 6 orders didn't show up or were DOA and the reps here have sorted it without any dramas. They usually reply within 24 hrs sometimes longer when they are busy which is understandable. My advice if you have a problem is to deal with the GB reps on here rather than raising a ticket through their website as the problem gets sorted much quicker.

    • That's the first thing I did. PM the rep on the 16/06/2017 about the ticket and my information for my order and told them I would still like my order. Guess what? The rep hasn't even bothered to reply at all. I didn't raise the ticket, Gearbest did and then proceeded cancelled my order. I was willing to wait a bit longer and hoped the rep would have help but i guess not.

      • Reading above the rep stated they were on leave yesterday which explains why they haven't responded. I understand your frustration but give the rep a chance to remedy the situation. If they are busy it might take them 48 hrs to respond, you contacted the rep on Friday so I'm sure they will contact you tommorrow, hope you get it sorted.

      • Is your refund back in your account or in the paypal black hole ?

        • Paypal black hole?

        • @dfaktz:
My paypal shows a refund from GB but nothing in my paypal or bank account.
Paypal transaction shows "Note from GearBest" Partial

The money will take up to 10 days before I can use it again hence the black hole.

  • I had a positive experience with GearBest recently. Ordered from them on 30/05, shipped on 01/06 and arrived on 15/06. So all up only 15 days to get here (10 or 11 business days). Can't get much better than that.

  • +2

I have ordered two things from them and neither arrived after many months. I had to fight for a refund both times. I'll never buy from them again.

  • +1

Gearbest and fight - yep that's how I think of them.

    • ps warned people a while back got trolled for it.

  • +1

i bought some finger spinners from them and when they finally arrived there was one missing,i lodged a ticket got a reply within 24hrs asking for photo's of bag it was sent in,a few days got a reply that the delivery company was at fault in another words someone else was to blame for the missing item.i challenged that..next i get a reply saying the item was on backorder and they would offer a credit or points…this not the first time for me having issues with them..and this will the last time i am dealing with them..when the ban was lifted last time we got promises service would be alot better….

    • and now there website shows them available..had enough of there lies

"I ordered the CR-10 3D printer on the 29/05/2017. I just received a ticket on the 15/06/2017 from Gearbest to saying they can't full fill my order. But as you can see the item is still for sale at a higher price. I just got processed the refund on the 19/06/2017 and they are still selling the printer with about 140 in stock."

Same bloody situation. Bought a Chuwi Hi10 plus on June special for 171 including priority delivery. Now I get an email from rep saying stock ran out and I have to wait for stock until late June. WTF ? I can see that it's still available and selling for a higher price now.

  • Sharing another experience for the record - ordered a toy RC car that was DOA because the transmitter/controller was broken.

okay outcome, but had to reach out to ozbargain rep to get them to follow the DOA policy, and they refused to refund shipping.

I've had good experiences with GB in the past, and will order from them again given they did initially help promptly, and I got an OK result when GB ozbargain rep intervened. But they need to seriously improve their approach to DOA and offering partial refunds (particularly where replacement parts are not available).

A blow by now, with scores.

    -1 point : a car transmitter/controller arrived DOA
-1 point : GB doesn't monitor their FB messenger account
+1 point : GB agreed to replace the controller, said they would ship in 3 to 7 business days.
-1 point : had not shipped two weeks later, asked me to wait a further 7 to 10 business days.
-1 point : said they didn't know when it would ship, offered a us$5 partial refund for the transmitter. I pointed out DOA policy is replace or refund, not partial refund.
-1 point : confirmed they would not be able to ship a replacement transmitter, asked me to accept a us$5 partial refund. I contacted GB ozbargain rep (sunny). FYI I asked for either refund or replace, I didn't mind which.
+1 point : finally offered full refund (possibly due to intervention of GB ozbargain rep)
-1 point : did not refund the shipping charge.
+1 point : suggested I could use the money to get a new transmitter
-1 point : ceased communicating when I asked where I could get one :)

Same here i ordered CR-10 on 19/6. i was just asking them the update on my order, then bang the message said they have issue with shipping i need to pay $46USD for normal and $94USD for expedited. I have already paid $17.95 for expedited australia post!. i was live chatting to a girl then bang she cancel my order without my confirmation! Nevermind Gearbest!! I hope Rep read all above post!!!

  • Ordered Xiaomi earphones from Gearbest, they arrived faulty. Submitting a ticket now, hopefully they send a replacement.

Just wanted to share my experience so far: I too ordered CR-10 on Jun 13 and almost 4 weeks later my order is still in "Processing" status.

The web customer service rep relied to my ticket saying they don't have the stock yet.
However the same item is on sale again (at higher price now) on their web site with estimated dispatch date of 24-29 July.
My tickets have been replied to, without any ETA even if I explicitly ask for it.

Seeing how many youtube 3d printer channels mentioned they got the printer off GearBest I thought they would fulfil the orders at reasonable speed/acceptable manner but so far the experience is less than satisfactory as far as the dispatching speed goes.

  • I ordered a phone the Xiaomi Mi5 with them back on the 20th of June 2017. We are 3 weeks in still waiting for order. The kicker is I ordered the case and screen protector via eBay from China and they got here within 9 days and they were free shipping no tracking.

These guys have the worst service, order was placed on the 20th but they actually shipped it a week later on the 28th of June. I needed the phone for this week because of leaving for holiday, if it arrives after it will be pointless.

I will highly recommend everyone staying away from these people. Even China has standards and Gearbest is the worst of the worst i have dealt with so far.

  • Hi guys I posted a deal for the CR-10 from banggood which is in stock and fast delivery. Hope the people who have been stuffed around can finally get one. Not as cheap but will get it quicker and no getting stuffed around.

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/324911#comment-5032573 again more shit from gearbest

can we get a reply from an admin ?

  • My recent experience with Gearbest:

    Xiaomi 10k Ver2 powerbank - 3 weeks from payment
Xiaomi Roidmi Car Bluetooth Charger Adapter v2 - 2 weeks from payment
Xiaomi Mi V Hybrid Dual Drivers - 4 weeks from payment and still hasn't arrived yet.

Not the worst for sure, around the same as Banggood.
