Its because the Swan is not 'picturesque' as they describe it, certainly not that area.
$159 for room with 4 x breakfast (2 adults, 2 kids) is pretty good, even if it is right on Great Eastern Highway.

If you don't mind Airbnb, you can get a decent aparment right in the middle of CBD with change left over enough for a breakie for 4 at a decent cafe. Depends on how long you want to stay and what is your plan.
Perth is overpriced for what most things are, especially hotels. I would stick to Airbnb if that's an option.
Can you give me an idea of an approximate cost? Airbnb? How much should I budget?
