I thought it's a mobile phone just looking at the thumbnail.

  • I purchased from last deal. Dammit

  • Damn. Cheap!

  • How many sata ports on motherboard?

  • Specs wise, this is a very tempting deal; indeed, you'd struggle to match it with a self-built based entirely on budget components that also include Bluetooth and Wifi, add to that the plug-and-play convenience and one year support.

In the longer term though I'm not so sure. It's easy to understand that the components on the PSU, RAM and MOBO were chosen and put together to meet a price point that would still generate a good profit even at a discounted price. Add to that the reliant on Dell for BIOS support of new hardware. My own experience trying to upgrade an XPS desktop has been a frustrating one.

With that in mind, a self-built costing several hundred dollars more at the outset, using high grade components may proof its worth in the long run, in terms of performance, upgrade-ability and reliability.

Anyone know what make is the GPU?

    • NVIDIA founders edition

99% of people will not care about the updates you speak about. PSU is definitely swapable to a reasonable size and GPU/RAM/CPU are all accessible, not much to hate except for those who do big overclocking.

I guess the issue is the computer might heat up too much if you put a more powerful card inside?

  • I wanna game (GTA V, BF4 and BF1 and others) at 1440p.

    1070 enough or should I get a 1080?

    • You want 60 FPS? or higher?

      • I do. Never experienced that before, lol. Usually hovered around 20-30

        • +1

1070 will be fine at 1440p for 60fps~

    • +2

      Yup this will hit 60fps @ 1440p

    • 1070 is great for 1440p/60hz, but consider 144hz. It will change gaming for you :)

      • Not your pocket

        • +1

          Still can recommend.

    • just use normal setting, 1440p should be fine for 1070. (have one)

      • Normal? Surely high?

        • Hits doom, shadow or mordor, battlefield 4 and battlefront on ultra. Haven't tried witcher 3 but I hear it might be 50fps with everything on high.

        • @Circly: I thought so, cheers.

Does anyone know if this is the same model from the previous deal? Or is there something different that I'm missing

  • +2

    gtx1070 in a phone. hell yeah, wait a sec….

  • Up $80 so the prev deal is cheaper again (after cashback).

    • I managed to get it at the best time luckily!

  • +1

Posted this on the last deal, funny how people take credit for themselves

    • I saved some money thanks to your efforts, thankyou! 💖

  • I had the previous deal, I recommend doing a Windows 10 'restore' and restore to a stock Win 10 (and remove all the Dell crap). The stupid thing would turn on all hours of the night for an update or something.
