Long time reader, first time poster.

Been on the lookout for a decent business laptop to do big data processing, have always been a Mac user but this could sway me away.

Found this on Dell eBay, looks like a bargain comparatively to everything else in the market.

Can also used Cashrewards to get an extra 2.6% off (knocks about $50 off it again).

There was one of these 'as new' on the Dell Outlet store a few days ago for $1,799. It may still be there.
Note it's got a free RAM slot and 2.5" SSD space for upgradability.

    • Wow that's decent, thanks for the heads up!

    • The Dell Outlet models are 6th Gen (Skylake) models.

      Here's the OzB link…

      Dell XPS 15 i7-6700HQ, GTX 960M, 4K UHD Touch Laptops = $1769 for 16GB RAM+512GB SSD or $2119 for 32GB RAM+1TB SSD @ Dell Outlet

      • There was a 7th Gen too. I just checked and it's gone now but there's a 7th Gen refurbished still (DFO-4074080XL) (no OS, $1,699).

        • OK, I misunderstood. Hopefully the OP has grabbed the one you were referring to.

        • @1bug:
Unfortunately no, but I saw the one 1bug linked and I think I'm sold on that.

    • There will be 2 ram slots, but it will have 2X4GB. It will not have a free slot

  • It says post from Malaysia, so there would be import tax?

That's just their distribution centre. You're buying from Dell Australia - there's no import tax.

  • Currently going through hell with Dell ebay because of this very laptop coming from Malay. Add initially said Syd. But out of stock after purchasing and now coming from Malaysia. Delayed twice, a week at a time. Tracking info is useless, didnt update for almost 2 weeks. Meant to arrive tomorrow. Got an email saying another 10 days this morning. Cant get an answer from dell_aus.

Hasn't the price been jacked up for this sale? If you look at past purchases the base price was $300 cheaper.

    • Yeah good pickup, so essentially its only 10% off, rather than the 20%

    • Yep was $2,299.00 a few days a go.
