      • Thanks elite79.

        • -3

Didn't the chinese buy out F&P from NZ.
          I haven't bought since.

        • @Jessie Ryder:

          Yep its Haier

        • @Jessie Ryder:

No longer Haier. FlexiGroup (ASX listed) acquired F&PF last year

    • Don't forget cashrewards! $8.67 cashback :)

      • How? Already ordered and paid

        • +2

You had to go through cashrewards before going to eBay. You can still do it by cancelling your order and requesting a refund but I don't think it's worth the time. Just remember next time to always search on Cashrewards or Pricepal before ordering online. E.g. Etihad flights, myprotein, eBay, Catch of the day, supercheapauto etc…

Dw you still got a "cracker" of a deal :)

    So…. What don't I need to buy today…. Decisions decisions…

Can someone please tell me what the code is? Cheers

      CRACKER

  • What to buy or don't buy …..

    • need vs wants :P

  • +3

    20% off never comes…

    • Because we all keep spending up on these 15% off codes.

      • +2

Because with 15%, ebay just forfeits their cut. 20% off and they'd have to fork out cash. Also 20% off would encourage fraudulent sales: eg you list an item for $2k and your mate buys it and only pays $1.6k. Even after the 15% ebay fee and paying your mate back, you make $100 profit.

        • I'm curious, do big sellers like Myer also pay 15% fee to eBay? I thought theirs would be lower given their volume.

        • +2

@tomssy: i'd say any seller who has ever been part of a non-sitewide sale (all the 20% ones) would have some other arrangement. Also it looks like ebay demands retail chains charge the same or lower prices on ebay vs their own stores, so there'd have to be a lower fee surely. Found out the other day that UberEats forces restaurants to charge no more than their in-house prices while taking a 30% cut. That's huge.

    Make it 20% and I'll buy a 5th geforce 1080ti..

  • When it says
    "AND use CTAX20"
there is no way to stack or combine these codes (CRACKER and CTAX20), is there ?
Probably a stupid question, but I can't resist asking.

    • +1

No. it was more a FYI to ensure users do their research first. Cheapest price is the OZB way.

      • OK thanks

    Any deals on frontloaders?

  • I am getting error whenever I try to purchase engine oil. Is it excluded?

    • Are you buying over $75 worth of oil? If not, add some more things to the basket….

      • Yes the total is $84.

        • Ah well. The oil listing must be in one of the excluded categories - most likely 'cars' (Purchases of items listed in the following categories are excluded from this offer: Services (316), Cars, Bikes, Boats (9800), Tickets, Travel (11,730), Bullion (178078) and Gift Cards (172,009))

Maybe see if you can find what you want under a different listing…

        • Buy at Autobahn. 30% off Engine Oils today. I just bought a heap earlier.

          Online and instore.

You don't have to buy every time.

      • -2

SO TEMPTED!!!! I hate this feeling…!!!

      • I'm confused.

    • I dont mind them giving us promos… as long as im looking for something to buy through them :D

  • Does this work with US based products, as I tried it and does not seem to work.

The item does not fall into any of the excluded categories.

    • should work if you buy them through ebay.com.au

      • For example this product

Kingsley Heater Unit for Hot Foil Stamping Machine M-50

I changed to 2 units to meet the minimum requirement.

Still doesn't work, work for anyone else?

        • I tried to buy some stuff in USD from sellers based outside of Australia, the code didn't work.

  • Hmm to gamble on there being 20% sitewide next week or take the plunge now…

    • They are more desperate than we are, I would wait

  • I have to ask this question and put my mind at ease.

By using this kind of coupons are we going to rip off the seller? Will ebay absorb all the cost? I am unsure how will ebay profit from this sort of exercise. This is like burning money for every sale bring made.

    • ebay absorbs all the cost

    • forgot to say I am more concern with those private sellers but not those ridiculous companies which taking advantage of this and hike the price.

    • +3

Ebay is basically just forfeiting their margin during these sales. They are trying to influence consumer behaviour in their favour. Uber and other companies use this tactic by giving out free rides etc. Yes, it's a bit of a gamble on ebay's part, but half of marketing is basically gambling haha. In this case, ebay wants to strengthen their foot-hold as ali-express, etsy, amazon and others have started ramping up efforts to capture ebay's market share.

    • +1

Not sure about the site-wide sales, but difference is split 50-50 for coupons that are store specific.

  • Gah, need a new suitcase but they are always excluded because they lie within the "travel, tickets" category. Surely the only reason for this category exclusion is to prevent discounted tickets and other service-based transactions…

    • +2

contact seller and tell them to put it into gardening supplies
      worked for me

  • OP reads like you can use CTAX20 + CRACKER, but you can only use one at a time (i tried hah)

    • I have reworded it, although I would always try and use both anyway :D

  • Used the promo to buy a LV20 from qd_au for $466.65 .Was eyeballing that for a long time (and the G6) and finally bit the bullet due to this promo. Thanks ebay :D

  • do bigw do click and collect for their ebay store

    • They don't, delivery only unfortunately.

  • I always have this issue… and I can't understand why: This code can't be applied to some of your items.

    • I had the same problem when trying to buy stuff that are priced in USD. AUD items work fine with the code.

    • how many items are in your basket?

      • Only 4…

        • are any travel related? or gift cards?

        • @ggqroozn: damn you smart … Lol Neck pillow and eye mask…

        • @ggqroozn: Is this always excluded?

        • @UrbionPT:
Generally. This is become you often have accommodation and tickets includes in this category. at least it explains why you always have the issue :D

  • Im gambling for the big one next Wednesday. It will be short and sweet. CBigWednesday

  • Can anybody recommend a good cheap dryer?

I don't want to spend too much but want something reliable (bought a $200 one a while ago and it broke just after 1 year warranty).

    • +1

Even though they are expensive the dyson hair dryers are awesome. Great for bum fluff.

      • Apologies. I meant clothing dryer.

        • cleans the bum fluff off my clothes fine.

  • I tried to buy items in pounds well above the minimum amount, but it tells me that I have not reached the minimum amount? Why? Do the original prices have to be in AUD? I bought in other currencies with coupons before and they worked. However, I once read that someone else had this problem.

Edit: I had a live chat with eBay and they told me to pay the full price and that they will refund the discount within 2-3 weeks.

    • I can second this.

Just got off a chat with ebay rep. She looked through my order and told me i would be contacted by their promo team in the next 10-15 working days for 15% credit of my eBay order. FYI all of my items were listed in USD by sellers outside of Australia.

      • I wonder if the coupon only works with AUD? It should work with all currencies, as we have been promised a credit, but maybe there is a glitch.

      • I have done this for 4-5 codes last 2 weeks for USD items

  • Any good 144hz monitor deals?
    <3

    • Yes

    • Definitely

    • plenty

  • I was wondering when is it mandatory for a seller to provide me with a tax invoice? Since I'm hoping to purchase an S8 and get GST back from it since I'm going overseas. From what I've messaged with sellers, if it is shipped from within Australia, there will be GST included in the purchase.

    • If the seller is not registered for GST, then no.

      • Do you think ShoppingSquare would be registered for GST? They said they'll provide me with an Invoice, which generally would have GST on it. But they said they couldn't confirm…. and its being shipped from within Aus.

    • Sellers only need to charge GST if they have over a specific turnover per year. Below that it's optional. It used to be $50k, not sure what it is now.

      • Okay, so big sellers like ShoppingSquare would definitely have GST.

        • Unless they are claiming they're in Australia and they're not. Which happens a fair bit.

        • I hadn't heard of these guys but they seem big enough to not flat out lie, but you also have to look for the "Kogan factor", e.g. most items off Kogan are shipping from Kogan HK.

I looked at a random item on ShoppingSquare.com.au and see this:

Direct Shipping Offer - ShoppingSquare.com.au is providing a platform for Australian buyers to purchase oversea item directly from oversea suppliers. ShoppingSquare.com.au will provide Australian base warranty for the item sold via direct shipping offer. Buyer remain as an importer for the items purchased from Direct Shipping Offers.
