Visible Body's Human Anatomy Atlas 50% off - US $11.99/AU $17.99 (iOS/Android/PC/Mac)

50

No idea when this started and could find no information on their site as to when it expires but it applies across all platforms (Mac, iOS, Android & Windows). Cost for the Mac version is $17.99AUD. I've not used the Mac version but their iOS app's at least as good as the competition on iOS, possibly has an edge on Essential Anatomy (though I was only a nursing student so not really in a position to judge).

From the site:
"The go-to anatomy reference app for healthcare professionals, students, and professors. Offers limitless views inside the human body. Comprehensive 3D gross anatomy of the male and female

Select microanatomy of the senses and tissue types

Cadaver slices and MRIs that are paired with 3D models

3D moving models of muscles and bones

Select any model to access definitions, pronunciations, and disease descriptions. Create views into the human body. Rotate and zoom into body regions. Dissect anatomy."

Have at it!

How many genders does it feature?

    • Sadly only 2, but you can change the labels manually with mini post-its and a marker

  • Note - those prices are USD

If you have aussie itunes its $17.99 for the android/itunes app. Normally $34.99

  • Sounds like it might be based on the visible human project. They froze, sliced up and scanned a death row inmate post-execution back in the mid 90s and I remember doing 3d stuff with that back then but it was super slow as the Web was brand new. This probably uses the same data sets.

Here's a list of apps that use the data, so you may find other stuff free

  • They did the woman in about 2000 I believe. All I know there is she was sliced thinner and scanned at higher resolution.

I think they photographed, MRI'd and x-rayed all the slices, plus maybe a bit more.
