  • Good deal but I would feel bad if I used that many batteries. :p

    • Depends what you're using them in I guess.

    • +15

What if it was for something that made you feel good?

      • I would still feel bad. so, so bad I would ground myself in my room for a couple of hours.

        • what lenneth means is he will feel naughty

          • @Cripto: naughty for not getting enough duracell's? 40 may not be enough

          • @Cripto: I'm pretty sure I'm not a 'he'. But what mischief I could have if I was…:)

        • +1

You could even use your tears as lubrication.

        • Grounding yourself in your room would only make you more likely to use the batteries in the product to make you feel better.

  • i'v got more battereies than I can use from previous coles and safeway deals

  • +2

Coles have Energizer Max AA on sale, 2 for 1. $26.38 for 4 packs.

Not sure how Energizer Max compare to Duracell though.

    AAA are a good deal.

$4.79 Eveready Super Heavy Duty AA 10pk at woolworths this week.

    • Duracell > Eveready

      • Anyone ever done a comparison review on batteries? Can't find any online.

        • I can find a few fairly basic noncommittal ones; but nothing I would really call scientific or reputable! The ones I've seen say the two are virtually identical in performance; however a couple infer the Duracells just edge out the Energizers in some applications! I'd take this with a hypertensive-grade grain of salt though! ;)

I've always had a better run out of Duracells myself, and been unfortunate enough to have a couple of Energizers leak on me; whereas others have reported the opposite! I officially give up; I'll just use what's cheapest and most convenient at the time! ;)

FWIW, just google "Energizer vs Duracell" for references to these groundbreaking studies! :)

        Rechargeable > Disposable

    • +2

Super Heavy Duty are nowhere near the power of alkalines. Completely different batteries.

  • +1

These are cheap chinese import crap… still a very good price… I think
I might be able to get ABC brand alkaline batteries cheaper than this price at Cash & Carry
    here in WA.

    • All the Duracell AA and AAA batteries I have seen sold in Australia are made in China. They were 'Made in EU' several years ago (read: cheapest European country they could find).

  • +2

Unless you need a large amount of batteries, I would "invest" in rechargables, my ps3 remote/tv remote and xbox 360 controller all benefit from a rough $40 something cost

    • +1

Yup I agree. There are still applications where non-rechargeables are recommended but for everything else get low discharge rechargeables and a good charger (I like my PowerEx maha MH-c9000 Wizard One).

    • Seconded.

      Plus, think of it:
These batteriess would last till 2016.
      THAT'S 4 YEARS TOO LONG!

      • Wut?

        • It's a joke reference to 2012 doomsday…

  • HN sale 12 AA alkaline batteries for only $3 last weekend.

  • Nah, get energizer lithium from eBay, they go for around 1.10 per battery but last much much longer.
    Never using alkaline again.
Comparison: my old 4mp Olympus digital camera used up half the juice of 2 normal energizer max batteries in 10 minutes, 20 minutes and you needed to swap batteries, with energizer lithium, I was able to get two full days (about 3 hours of hardcore usage) before the half battery indicator started flashing.
Seriously, alkaline batteries can go eff themselves.
Not a bad deal… But could be MUCH better.
How do I know my lithium batteries from eBay aren't pieces of crap?
    1. They're much lighter than normal alkaline batteries, which they should be as I have been suckered into buying some from woolies before.
    2. Using them with my logitech m950 mouse, a few weeks have gone by without a drop in the battery usage indicator, hardcore usage too. With the supplied enitime 2000mah nimh battery, it usually drops down to two bars after 3 days of heavy usage, hence I know that the batteries I got are doing their job :)

    • +1

3 days on the mouse sounds so little.

Alternatively, go for space-rated batteries that last you up to 20 years! I know this because I had to research it last night for an assignment =P

      • Well it's ONE aa battery not two in this uber mouse, it also lasts up to a week with heavy usage then it goes on 1 out of 3 bars on the indicator.
Logitech never claimed the mouse to have a 3 year battery life span, they also give you a charger for the mouse itself to charge the supplied battery.
I personally got the lithium batteries cause I knew they would last for a while, I'm lazy and can't be bothered to recharge as well as the included NiMH battery weighing the mouse down.

    • crazy, i wouldnt bother importing lithium batts from hk/china, most probably fakies lmao

      • I don't get how you can fake the charge or weight in a battery, also, most of the batteries sold here are made in china anyway..

        • They put sand in them supposedly. lol.

          • @Benmc: Dude, sand is HEAVY, when you use a battery and notice it lasts longer.. that's another indicator that your battery isn't fake.
How are you supposed to fake lithium batteries when they're much lighter than normal alkaline?

  • Buy rechargeables.
