As mentioned in this reddit thread:

A slickdeals bargain allows you to get 12 credits for one year. Much cheaper than the monthly plan.

This offer is for new members only but a number of current members (inlcuding me) were able to go to Audible's live chat and get this plan too. I'm on the US membership. Please comment below if you're able to do the same with an Aus. membership.

    I gave up my Platinum US account last year and now buy credits from here https://exploreaudiobooks.com/ and have never had an issue with them.

      Apparently, the trick is to register with a REAL US address on the "Billing Address" field. Doesn't matter if your credit card has a non-US billing address, doesn't matter if you register from a non-US IP and, since Audible.com only communicates with its clients by email, it doesn't matter if the "Billing Address" recipient is a random stranger or a Subway in NYC :)

    FYI I'm a current member of AU Audible and just received the email below this makes this deal even more attractive although I wish they had the same thing available for AU accounts I currently run two and hate switching between them.
