Odd number sized drives.. just seem wrong.

    • You have to buy them in twos to keep the bad luck away.

  • good price. just bought one 2 weeks ago for $162 at Centrecom.

    • Can you comment on acoustics? I'm looking at replacing my busted "WD Green" drives and they are discontinued.

According to SPCR these are among the quietest 3.5" spinning disk HDD they tested…

However since FW 2.0 and now 3.0 apparently they have "adjusted" the acoustics to make them noisier :S

      • I mounted it inside the NVR, which has a small fan running. In short, the HD is not audible, i.e. With the fan running, I could not hear the HD clicking. The whole thing is tucked away on a shelf, so the noise is not a concern for me. But with the limited time, while it is running on the bench, it is safe to say the Red is quieter than a normal HD, comparing to what I have inside my PC.

Seems like shipping is fixed $15, so it gets cheaper for more drives.

$135 each for two when I have been paying $128 for blues.

    Fast shipping.

I haven't opened yet but seems like they were shipped with just some bubble wrap around them :/

    • That was rather concerning as well - hopefully they pass the badblocks test but even then, it could be damaged in some other way
