I mounted it inside the NVR, which has a small fan running. In short, the HD is not audible, i.e. With the fan running, I could not hear the HD clicking. The whole thing is tucked away on a shelf, so the noise is not a concern for me. But with the limited time, while it is running on the bench, it is safe to say the Red is quieter than a normal HD, comparing to what I have inside my PC.
Seems like shipping is fixed $15, so it gets cheaper for more drives.

That was rather concerning as well - hopefully they pass the badblocks test but even then, it could be damaged in some other way
