    How much for 5KGs?

    • Email me through what you want and I will quote you :)

      Cheers

    • I hope you run a cafe? Because that is a lot of coffee for home use. Unless your planning to have 7+ cups a day.

      • +2

I hope you run a cafe?

        Feels like I do.

        7+ cups a day

Yup … Just a big household… lots of coffee drinkers.

      • i make 5-6 coffees a day for the family

plow through beans like a machine

  • Hey Rep, I've only just pulled out my Delonghi KG100 from the cupboard after several years as my wife got me an AeroPress for my birthday this month. She's been buying beans from Code Black and Axil. How do I find out their cupping rating? >85 sounds great.

    • Hi there - they may not publish the cupping scores if they are not a "speciality' coffee and dont get over 80.
You can always ask them :)
      Cheers

They are both highly rated Melbourne based roasters. Can't go wrong with either of them! Not sure how Two Cracks compares as I haven't heard of them until now.

      • +2

Only one way to find out! :)

      • Thanks sylon.

        • +2

Code Black and Axil are highly rated national roasters. Both would not use coffee <80 points. 80 points is the cut off for "specialty grade".
Edit: remember, it's not just about the grade of the coffee. Any roaster can buy buy quality green. But I know that Code Black and Axil are both consistently good roasters as well.

Code Black (in cafe) is one of the best coffees going around.
I haven't tried the beans at home but im sure they won't disappoint.

As for two cracks at the price you could give them a crack.

  • alas my coffee machine is in the shop or i would have ordered.

    • By the time the beans have been delivered and peaked ( 5-10 days after roasting) you will probably have it back …right?? :)

      Cheers

    • Mine's just about to go in, and all of these coffee deals are popping up :(
      Gawd damnit.

  • Would you pack in sealed 250gm packets? Eg 4 x 250gm for the kilo price? Keen, but hate my beans going stale unnecessarily!

    • +4

      Of course - no problem!

      cheers :)

Legend, will send an email now!

  • Any recommendations for Long Black (me) and Latte (wife)

    • My preference would be Ethiopian for long black. The other 3 are all good for milk based coffees

      Cheers :)

I know it's necessary, but sometimes reading the descriptions of coffee taste characteristics does my head in.

    • +1

I'm a coffee nerd (my kitchen looks like a meth lab) and hate the b****** descriptions.

      • I used to think the same but they are actually useful for me now when selecting my beans.
Some of the flavours can be picked up in the brew.
I do agree though - they can sound a bit w@nky….bit like the wine labels :)

        Cheers

        • I had no idea something like this existed. :)

        • @Stix: Yeah full on isnt it! I think they covered the spectrum there.

Thanks OP. I don't need beans now but may try some in the future. Giving a positive for having a shot. :)

Also, just some feedback for the the website (especially the shop part) - it's a bit hard to navigate as the images and text are quite large, creating unnecessary scrolling.

    • thanks for that - I will look into it :)

  • Hi, just about to finish the last packet from the last promotion and found the India bag the best but I can't see it above in your description?

    • Hi there - my single origins change every month or two. I like to keep things interesting! :)

That Indian was very nice yes.

      Cheers

  • How long do the beans last if I only open one packet at a time? I only drink 1 cup a day so I'm worried about over-ordering and the beans spoiling before I get to drink them!

    • Good question. I tend to start consuming my beans 5-10 days after roasting ( smell the beans every day or two - use your nose - its usually right!)
From then I can keep my beans for another 2-3 weeks if stored in the sealed bags in a cool dark environment ( such as a pantry).

Start with a small bag of each ( 4 x 250g) and make your one coffee a triple shot and you're good for a month! :)

      Cheers!

        Got them thanks! Smells good!

  • Hi OP, I haven't tried yours before. I am more of a Latte fan. Could you recommend me some good beans for Latte?

    • +1

Hi there - I would recommend the Brazilian and Colombian for milk based coffees. They have the more 'chocolatey' notes which work well.

Thanks for your interest in Two Cracks Coffee :)
