  • This looks interesting… Would it be suitable to use for a trip to Hawaii?

    • Hi Pico,

Indeed it will, however if used Hawaii you will only receive 3G Speeds!

      Thanks!

      • Thanks for your quick reply. I'll have to weigh up whether the speeds will be an issue…

Worth noting that since roaming charges have gotten banned across the EU, you can now turn up in the UK, buy a PAYG sim, load it up, and then roam across the EU for the same price as the UK.

Doesn't give you US, SA Asia etc., but gives you more options than just Three (particularly since their 4G coverage isn't hot).

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-roaming-calls#…

    • Hi sane,

Thanks for the info, we are very aware of the roaming changes accross the EU. ThreeUK have had this product available for a long time (I'm assuming in anticipation for the changes). Benefit of buying online is so you can go directly to other countries without going to UK first.

Other carriers are now comming out with similar products, so we will be adding them to our Europe collection of SIMs when we get stock :)

      Thanks!

      • I'm well aware of the Three offerings, they have been doing it for ages now. I've got some people to get the SIM for trips to the UK/Europe. However the imposition of free roaming does change things since people now have a wider range of options to pick from - if they stay within the EU.

        Worth noting that your

        • 300 minutes calls (for use in the UK ONLY)
        • 3000 texts (for use in the UK ONLY)

is probably not true anymore. It should be 300mins/3000 texts in the EU (in other words roaming forces them to widen the validity).

Oh, and I think you have to activate the Three SIM in the UK before you can use it in another country (I remember that being one of the things they did to make it worse).

        • Thanks for the information sane. We will have a look into the calls/texts. We have not been informed of any changes thus far. I am sure it is just a matter of time for them to change it/adapt (if not already).

Our stock is pre-activated so it will work in any of the countries, no need to activate in UK.

          Thanks!

        • @So Easy Travel:

If you look at the relevant pages on their website, it says the allowance is valid in the EU (eg it's changed).

  • I'm overseas for more than 2 months from mid July. How does recharging work?

    • Hi Avra,

You are able to recharge through us via our recharge section:

      https://soeasy.travel/collections/recharge-vouchers

Just purchase the recharge and everything will be done on our end :)

      • It says the recharge cards are out of stock. Does this happen often?

        • We're about to receive more recharge vouchers, generally we are always stocked for recharges! :)

  • My daughter just bought one of these from 3 in the UK, she said the speed and coverage in London is very good, she will be travelling to Europe and Israel, which are covered by the roaming plan. I think this would be the best value if you require roaming in Europe and the UK.

So tethering from your phone to a computer wouldn't work? Thanks!

    • Hi bbbbb,

With this particular SIM you won't be able to tether unfortunately!

However we find most of our customers will pop the SIM out of one device and into another :)

  • Any deals on the NZ 2 degrees sim coming soon?

    • Nothing scheduled as of yet, we are low on stock.

Probably order more stock in a few weeks time so keep your eyes open in case we put up a post!

  • Unless it's a different sim, I believe it's cheaper here: https://www.mymemory.co.uk/3-payg-4g-trio-sim-pack-incl-300-…

    • +2

That is the same SIM as ours, and yes it is cheaper.

I just received an email from them:
Birthday promotion: 14% of mymemory for 14 hours using code BDAY14

I just used these to travel through italy and switzerland. Connectivity is fine but note that speed is significantly throttled when outside UK to a point when sometimes it is unuseable. 75% of the time its like 2G/Edge speed. Theres plenty of discussions on this topic around the web for this particular issue on this product.

  • Looks like they've added Brazil and Singapore to the list, might want to update the image on your website. Good stuff as I bought this sim on an earlier deal and was going to buy another sim for the Singapore leg of our Europe trip.

    • Thanks boss, will update it! :)

  • VERY IMPORTANT: If you are travelling more than 90 days away from the date of purchase, Please contact us and inform us of this so that we can send your SIM card 1 month before you depart.

Is this for the current batch of sims? I bought in May and there was no restriction on activation time.

    • Those batch of SIM cards are not included in the 90 days! :)

  • OP, I`ll be in Europe for 3 months starting middle of next month, the three website says if it's used abroad for two months they may cancel it. If I bought two, could I activate one next month then in another two months time activate the other?

    • +1

      Hey bradenpd,

Most definitely can, just be weary of our 90 day expiry! (Might be best to purchase at the end of the expiry for this sale) :)

  • I'm travelling to the UK in a ~months time. How is this SIM different from the http://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Pay_As_You_Go SIM which is £20 (roughly AUD 29)

    • Hi nerdinary,

There's actually no difference with that SIM card and ours! The only difference is that we are able to ship to you prior to your departure :)

  • i used this SIM last month in UK and France.

Sheet coverage. Very sporadic coverage in bigger cities and quite often on highway and smaller country areas no reception.

Barely worked when in France. Couldn't stream spotify half the time nor watch youtube videos at 144Bps

Parents wewre on vodafone and found it barely worked in paris as well.

Think you're better off buying cheap SIMs for each country you are heading to.

  • I am going for 5 weeks to Istanbul, Athens, Russia, Brussels and Germany. Is this a good sim to get? Am I better of buying from a different country as I will not actually go to theUK?

    • Hi romaau,

It's not a bad one, it works in all of Europe! The only problem that you can run into is that in some countries you will not receive 4G speeds!

The awesome thing about what we offer is the fact we ship you the SIM prior to your departure, giving you that peace of mind :)

  • Does Greece have 4G or will it be 3G?

    • Hi Vlahka,

      Greece will be 3G

  • Guys I bought this this from you earlier in the year and was advised there is NO expiration date, now your posts mention:

"If you are travelling more than 90 days away from the date of purchase, Please contact us and inform us of this so that we can send your SIM card 1 month before you depart."

Am I going to have an issue if I purchased more than 90 days ago?

    • Hi Scanuck,

If you purchased the SIM earlier in the year, you won't need to worry about the expiration date - this is only for the new batch of SIM cards

      Thanks! :)

      • Thank you

  • I activated my sim card but after 3 days it still has no credit on it!?

    • Hey Mr Shooty!

Once you activate your SIM, the credit will go towards your bundle :)

So you will still receive your 12GB of data, 300 Mins calls/3000 texts.

      • It says that nothing is on it? It has no plan

        • Hey Mr Shooty,

Send us a private message :)
