    I downloaded this but am finding TinyScanner Pro to be better at plain black and white. The white background comes out clearly white without shades of grey with this program. Also file sizes are smaller with TinyScanner.

    I use this. No ads, no watermarks. Can bulk scan things into single folders.
    It converts things to black and white perfectly. Not sure what all these other people are talking about!

    This version with OCR is still coming up as being $6.49. MDScanLite is free but contains ads. Sure OP hasn't confused the two?

      I got it for free earlier today when it said it had 2 hours to go. It has now expired.
