Looking for a Gift Watch

Hey fellow OBer's,

Just looking for some help in finding a watch to gift my girlfriend. So yes I want it to be fashionable and happy to pay the extra moolah for the brand name, but obviously still want the best for the price paid. I think she'd appreciate something classy and elegant, but not overly flashy. I hear things like DW is all the rage these days. And pink/rose gold preferable as that's her favourite. Cheers all :)

I've heard Michael Kors is quite popular amongst the ladies, a girl from work always raves about this watch she got for her birthday. Here's the rest of the collection. My gf however always raves on about DW, so go for that if it's the safe option.

    • Had a look at MK and I think the style is too flashy for her tastes. DW does seem like a safe option

Would probably be helpful if you could tell us your budget or price range

    • Hmm well probably something under $300 I think would be a good start. Going higher than that and I feel like I should be trying to get something practical rather than a marked up price tag, although open to people's opinions

Apple Watch and watch her smile :-)

  • Try Linjer, they give you a 15% off code for subscribing.

Works out to about $280 a watch.

Relating to Daniel Wellington … https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/278689

  • DW in rose gold but needs to be big face. MK is cheaper and good rep too wth equal brownie points

Tissot… hands up in the air Done!!

  • Re: quality wise, anyone know how some of the popular fashion brands like skagen, MK, DW, Olivia Burton, Cluse, stack up against each other. Was looking at the link PJC referenced and DW seems to scratch easy

As for Daniel Wellington, Member chino101 assures us the dial is actually paper! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4217827/redir

    • The brands you mention usually lack Sapphire Crystal. That Tissot I linked to definitely has it.

Don't waste your money on crap. You should either drop a few $K on a decent mechanical watch like an Omega, get a cheap quartz watch like a swatch, or a smart watch like and Apple watch. Anything in between is a waste of money.
