First time poster, been waiting for a worthwhile scoop to pop the cherry ;)

Apparently an unprecedented price for this product half price @ $49.00 in all Big W- starting on the 6th July (not sure when it finishes)..

My friend who works at Big W shared this upcoming promotion with me. I have one at home and I think its a very underrated machine.

This machine doesn't use coffee pods or capsules and can take any type of instant coffee. I use it to froth up hot Milo (yes i drink Milo with water)

Edit 8/7: $54 delivered off eBay here and use COZZIE code. Save $5 off the Big W website price for delivery.

    That sounds pretty neat, actually.

And yeah, I make hot Milo with water all the time. I just top it up with some milk at the end.

I've actually got two free Nescafe mugs, they look like they'd go well with this machine.

Singaporeans and Malaysians been making milo with hot water/ice water forever. They call them Milo Dinosaurs. I always get one when I eat satay sticks at Mamak :-)

      • +1

Damn you I want mamak now

        • +1

          That place is overrated.

  • +3

so you add cold water & powdered coffee/milo/etc
and it comes out hot, steamy & frothy?

    • yes its that easy, hence i say its underrated for those that drink instant coffee and whatnot

      • it's got good reviews on productreview, mostly from it's target market

      • This is an american sort of coffee maker then isnt it?

        • +1

No. Not a percolated coffee machine

        • @Regie69:
Ok that wasnt the type I was thinking of. It was some instant coffee machine where u can put a 'bag' of coffee and cold water, and it comes out the bottom like instant hot water.

        • +1

          @ATangk:

That's drip coffee. It's not instant. It uses ground beans.

        • +3

          @phoenixx:
Maybe I just have no idea what im going on about then.

        • +1

          @Regie69:

that youtube's epic. Wistfully wishing he had powdered milk to go in his blend 43…. I can't tell if he's taking the piss or not.

      • If you want to froth up hot chocolate or instant coffee, just get a $2 hand-held milk frother on eBay. You don't get "true" microfoam but when you're drinking instant coffee that's hardly something to quibble over.

    • No, it doesn't come out "hot, steamy & frothy", it comes out barely piss warm and frothy.

  • +3

I remember when they gave you a large tin of Nescafe coffee with it when purchased.

No doubt they will skim and not include this in the deal now?

    • i actually bought my machine when they had that $99 sale with free coffee! i think the 700g tin of Nescafe coffee is $25 normally, so you're better off just buying the coffee and machine separately during this sale ($74 vs $99)

    • +9

Not giving you the Nescafé coffee is doing you a favour

      • +2

International Roast is where it is at.

        • I like any of them but if I had to choose I would go for macona as my favourite.
I cannot stand Nescafé, I don't know how anyone can drink it.

        • In a 10kg tin

        • Ahh loftizle, I see you're a man of culture as well

    A teaspoon is cheaper…

    • +3

Yes, but you need a 14 yr old to have the strength and match-fitness to froth with it…

    • +1

Macona is pretty good instant coffee

    • Cheaper than pods, better than instant coffee.

      • Ahh but this IS instant coffee. You are just swapping a kettle for this machine that puts out the hot water.

        • It's instant capucino

I didn't realise IS was diversifying their torture techniques to include instant coffee

LOL I've never read a review that said:

"While not having physically tested the device, I am confident to stand by my statement based on the product description alone."

      • Welcome to Australian """journalism""" in 2017.

  • Same price at a few woolworths stores, on sale now

  • You can take my freedom, but you can't take my coffee plunger. Real beans FTW!

    .
Nescafe must be getting rid of them as there is a newer model that is more automated and probably more expensive called the Nescafe Barista Coffee Machine
no idea of price but there are some videos on You Tube like this one showing what it can do

    https://youtu.be/Ho-u5va8sD4?t=119
    .

    • I don't know about the machine, but that Malaysian girl is gorgeous :P

    Kmart - Colour Whisk $1.50
    Aldi - Kettle $7.49

Whisk can even come in red.

Remember the $400 juicer that dispenses pre-juiced juice?
    This is the coffee equivalent.

  • Can someone let me know how this works? There is actually a small market for a machine that simply dispenses boiled water and nothing else, Tefal used to make one for about 60 bucks and the advantages were it took a lot less time to boil than a kettle, there was no minimum amount of water to be boiled, and also therefore less electricity used (not that you would make your money back compared to a 7 dollar kettle but it's worth noting).

So if you take the shitty coffee out of the equation, this might not be so bad for people who only want to boil a cup of water for tea etc

  • Lol.. I tried to search for review.. I found this instead. the author didn't even tried it

    http://www.news.com.au/technology/gadgets/nescafes-red-mud-c…

  • Yeah…. not really froffing over this one.

  • Darnit, picked one up but appears to be a DOA. No water is coming out of main chamber. Only frothing (jet) part works. Any ideas anyone. Still deciding on just refunding it or swapping for another.

  • If anyone is getting it delivered, you can save $5 by getting off eBay here and use COZZIE code

Don't know about you guys, but I make coffee in the microwave. I have been doing so for the last two decades.
